No Sixaxis support in Resistance: Retribution multiplayer |
Ó
The unfortunate news: Retribution's sync-ing capability with the Sixaxis does not extend to multiplayer.
This was confirmed by Sony at a recently held multiplayer event for Retribution somewhere in San Fran. Said a spokesperson to MTV Multiplayer, "Games would be too unbalanced with some people using the controller and some using PSP."
Oh, okay. So they had the concept of fairness in mind when they decided on it. But do you think it's fair not to have Sixaxis support in multiplayer?

im glad they did that.. as i read the article on the psblog this morning i was thinking, 'man this would be much easier for people (like me) who will be using the connectivity feature'... i think there is a better solution out there... make it to where using the ps3 controller will link you up with a group all using the ps3 controller... that would be the only way it would be fair for the rest of the people using the psp nub (analog stick)
Doesn't really matter.
But it will give people something less to ***** about when they loose
You misspelled "retribution"! They should give the option to include it or not.. But I suppose this is easier. Meh.
Well, they could allow people to create rooms where you can only use Sixaxis/DS3.
Like when you are looking for a match, and you happen to only have a PSP, you won't see those other rooms open.
Sixaxis should be supported in multiplayer and they could just implement the "sixaxis option" in multiplayer by choice if they want it enabled or disabled by the host. That's fair. Then again, it's all about elite skills. HAHA
That would be good. Also I wonder if other controllers are supported for single player.
Cool, great news.
Seeing how PSP multiplayer games aren't populated that much, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to split the community into sixaxis users and PSP users... And I think sixaxis users would end up hosting for PSP usrs anyway because of the lack of sixaxis users and the generally low amount of players.
The use of the PS3 controller against someone who can use PSP only is quite a big unfair advantage as the control will obviously be better with two analog sticks over one.
Now I have a PS3, but even if I did have Resistance 2, I still would be glad of this choice. I'm more into competitive gaming and can tell you an win when playing an even match is much more satisfying than one from an uneven matchup, for either side of the play field.
