No multiplayer for PSP Minis? |
Ó
An unspecified source has informed Pocket Gamer that Sony may have
prohibited inclusion of multiplayer modes and connectivity features in
Minis games, which makes sense since Sony wants to keep the price and
the file sizes down.Gameloft, however, has already announced its UNO Mini game, which has the multiplayer and connectivity features that the program supposedly does not support. So what's the real score?
As it turns out, the specifications do not fall under an inflexible rule. It's just that prohibiting features like multiplayer streamlines the development for Minis, so devs will have more time to focus on the single player mode.
Pocket Gamer reckons that perhaps larger publishers such as Gameloft may negotiate with Sony if they really wish to include those features. As it is, Sony wants to keep true to the concept and keep the price tag under € 5 (US$ 7) and the file sizes under 100 MB.

It's hilarious the asinine rules that Sony puts on developers. Sony still hasn't learned that the less freedom you give developers, the less quality you get. It's no wonder that the PSN has been piss-poor for so long.
Some of the best multiplayer games don't even crack 1mb on older consoles so 100mb is more than enough for what Sony claim to be mini games, this is all just Sony's dumbness shining through and showing they still haven't learned from all the mistakes they made the last 3 years.
Would be a really nice feature. Will there be score boards?
I'd like to see a lot of quick, cheap games and apps. As long as they are still allowing some deeper games to be made.
Then there is no reason to purchase those games. I know the economy bad but daaamn, this sux! They hustlin!
Multiplayer Tetris.
