Gran Turismo - Image 1

The US PlayStation Blog recently asked for some reader questions to be fired off to Gran Turismo PSP's US producers Chris Hinojosa Miranda and Taku Imasaki. Well, they've got the answers back, so let's take a look at some of the stuff they've revealed.

Will cars get damaged on GT PSP?
  • Damage? No. 800+ cars, 35 tracks, on-the-go awesomeness, and a lifetimeÂ’s worth of racing, yes.
Will we see Porche, Lamborghini in the PSP version?
  • Our car selection is pretty broad — there is a lot of candy, thatÂ’s for sure — but as far as flavors, youÂ’ll just have to wait a bit more.
Will there be a downloadable demo of Gran Turismo for the PSP?
  • We wish we can provide one, but at this time, there are no plans. We are focusing our efforts on Gran Turismo and GT5.
It appears that the AI car count is 3 cars on track. Counting you, there would be 4 cars in the race. WouldnÂ’t it have been better to drop the framerate of the game from 60 to 30 and increased the car count?
  • We went through many experiments but came to the conclusion that having three opponents gives you the best portable racing experience while maintaining the Gran Turismo level of quality.
Gran Turismo PSP is currently slated for an October 1 release in the US.

» Nothing

Apart from knowing the amount of AI cars those questions tell me nothing.

» 3 opponents...

That seems a bit light. We'll see how it plays, but I was expecting more. :(

i want more info on the multiplayer side of the fence. i am fairly confident that there will be an arcade style mode and a career mode but it would be nice to know if there will be a really, drag strip, drift, ect mode to engage people in and if it will be stuck to adhoc or if internets will be opened up.

» Prologue

Gran Turismo always has a demo, i mean what you think GT4 & GT5 Prologue is? The only thing stopping them is the fact they can't really make any money from a Psp demo.

3 opponents is absolutely fine. I'm actually happier than if there were more, regardless of graphics.

» ok

thats how we make a game for gamers not money , all respect

» Online play can be done through ad-hoc party on the PS3.

Because like most PSP games lately that you'd think would have infrastructure, it'd probably have ad-hoc instead.

I honestly don't care about infrastructure due to ad-hoc party. It's unfortunate for those with no PS3 as it means that the person has to be right next to them but it also gives more incentive for people with a PSP to go and purchase a PS3.

» Aw man.

I think 5 AI racers would have been acceptable, but only 3? That doesn't seem like enough to me. :(

» it better have..

I'll flip out if this game doesn't have Nurburgring and Le Mans tracks. If it doesn't, then forget it, with 3 opponents (which chances are that they'll drive and behave exactly the same) and boring tracks. Pff, forget about it..

» dogsh1t lies..

» No Demo?

Oh poop... why won't they release a demo to the gaming public? :(

by KingPepper - 2009-07-15 05:47
» They wouldn't make a demo..........

They wouldn't make a demo,

1)....because it would put a lot more people off, of buying it, as its not going to be as good as people hoped.

2)....because they are busy trying to make it as hard as possible to pirate it, as soon as its released.

They are my opinion anyway. :(

» well then

if ad-hoc party makes a supported game online. Then the stupid game should have been online in the first place! Think Dude!! sheesh!
