Apparently Absolute Hero Modding Project isn't the only PSP game Nippon Ichi has in the oven. They're also jumping into retro mode with Classic Dungeon.
Revealed in this week's Dengeki PlayStation, Classic Dungeon is a retro-fueled dungeon crawl featuring 2D dot graphics. NIS is even implementing a feature that lets players switch between standard and 8-bit music.
There's also a sprinkling of new gameplay conventions as well. Ad-hoc multiplayer is in, and it seems customization will play a big part. gaming blog Andriasang notes that there's even what looks like a pixel editor in there for full-on character creation.
No word yet on an overseas release, but importers can look forward to Classic Dungeon's February 18 release in Japan. More info is available through the source. You can also check out the game's website here, although the full site launch won't happen until December 3.

then came hero 30 (which is totally the best game i have ever played)
then 3d dot bla bla was anounced
and now this.
i kinda like these games. they have a light and quickly progresing game style, which something modern Rpgs could learn from cause damn those random battles take forever to load, forever to load an attack, then you have to watch the animation. repeat like 5 times. status screen and back to the game.
i've been playing rpgs since i was like 8 (i'm 24 now) and after a while you get kinda bored with the slow stuff.
quick rpgs please!
