Only rightly, the company that created Mario has been deemed as the top video game publisher by Game Developer in their top 20 publishers countdown. It's amazing how Nintendo still manages to stay on top after all these years.
Before you shout "fixed!", consider that this is a survey conducted among 300 professionals from the video game industry. They were asked to their opinions on the reputations of each publisher in the survey. Other respondents who had direct experience with the publishers in the recent past were also asked to give scores and commentaries.
Basically, this is a list compiled from the opinions of those in the industry, not an independent ranking from Game Developer. In fact, the full report has more than 100 pages showing graphs, commentaries, and other boring stuff. For us gamers though, what really counts is who made it on top.
Sony ranked fifth, and Microsoft blipped on 9th place. Electronic Arts, who's published everything from first-person shooters to racers, to the upcoming survival horror game Dead Space, ranked in second place, while Guitar Hero creator Activision ranked in third.
Assassin's Creed studio Ubisoft is in fourth, Grand Theft Auto studio Take-Two Interactive is on sixth, and Final Fantasy studio Square Enix is found at tenth place. Who else made it on top? Here's the full list:

I might have said the list's crap. But that doesn't mean I'll leave anyone to go on about the PS3 being better. The 360, Ok I'll let it go because, while it's not to my tastes, it does have a decent library, so prefernce of genres can make it better. But the PS3, just no.

It was fun and I bought the thing to get me thru my 360 RRoD; when I got my 360 back, the Wii was never again played.

PS: They're rating them as Publishers, not Game Developers. If it was Game Developing that list would have been so different...

The Wii is the "best selling home console" because it is cheap and blinds potential buyers with pseudo- innovative Gameplay and brags about its "unique motion sensing" (although it actually doesn't do more than the original EyeToy). People who see a Wii in action, usually get hyped up and go out the next day to get one, and after 1-2 Weeks it justs collects dust (or gets chipped because no one is ready to pay full price for last generation games lol!!
The Wii is nothing more than an outdated Game System (was since launch) which tries to make up for that with its "innovative" Game controls and "original" (yeah right) titles. I have so far to see a Wii game which keeps me hooked for longer than the average PSN title.

WHAT??? whave you not played brawl ? most of my friends believe that is the reason the wii was made. lol but seriously i would buy a wii just for that game (of course id also get no more heroes and maybe galaxy)

I find this mentality a fantastic read - Nintendo made a good, enjoyable product(s, I suppose) that more people wanted than any other system in the market. They also released hardcore games (Brawl, Galaxy, Prime 3 - if you want to 100% each one) and casual titles (Brain training, Wii sports) and games inbetween (Kart). They're doing everything right and the sales of the system, the attach rate (better than PS3) AND the metacritic ratings ALL say it's a good system.
But fanboys don't seem to see that. As I always said - you can enjoy what you want. It's not as good as the DS in many MANY ways but I play the PSP more. Just as I play the Wii more than my other consoles. The mentality of some people... sheesh!

Really? Who? I've have never seen such a comment. Please post a link pointing us to it. If you are refering to me then once again you have FAILED! PCs stomp the crap out of consoles. But, they cost more.
