After 8 years and 12 piercings, BME user metal_games wants to move on to other forms of art he can apply to his body. But instead of going down the tattoo road, this guy opted to go for scarification, wherein you intentionally scar yourself to create a pattern or an image. The interesting bit here is that the design isn't what you usually see - it's the image of the NES controller. For the squeamish, the pics may not be too suitable for you guys."Starting with the lines, the pain wasn't half as bad as I'd expected. In fact, it was a breeze for the most part," he wrote on his blog. "It took Jeffrey, the artist, about 20 minutes to cut all the lines. A couple of deep breaths, and we went straight on to removing the skin. I wasn't looking forward to that, but again, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." So despite the bloody mess, our body modder didn't seem to hurt too much.

Some parts on the more sensitive parts of my leg had me clenching my jaw, and after about 45 minutes I just wanted it to be over with. We were nearly done at that point however, and after another painful 10 minutes it was all over. Stopping the bleeding was a different matter though, and I lay there for a while until it stopped. After bandaging it, it felt like a large abrasion. So back to Utrecht, where it turned out the bleeding had started again, but the next morning when I cleaned it for the first time, it had stopped. Cleaning it for the first time turned out to be pretty painful (duh), but the second time it was a lot better. Now all I have to do is to care for it according to Jeffrey's advice, and I can't wait to see how it's gonna come out when it's fully healed. All in all, it wasn't the most fun experience I ever had, but I'm glad I went through with it. It looks so cool!
The thing is, he didn't mention why he went for the NES controller, why he picked his leg, or what games he enjoys playing. Then again, he's more of a body-modder than a gamer, so all we have are the intricacies of his bloody conquest.

Scarification is actually not an "emo" thing to do. Just because it's cutting of the skin, doesn't automatically make it emo. Actually, when it heals CORRECTLY, it will look much nicer rather than red bright bloody red. Google it. Emos probably do it, but it isn't only an emo thing. I've seen scarification on a business man to a tribal African American dude. It's everywhere.

Actually KingPepper, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. It's the same thing as getting a tattoo or a stretched piercing.
Secondly, most reputable body-mod/scarification parlours wouldn't operate on a child. It's illegal.
And it sickens me that there are still people like you that are so closed minded as to think that something as beautiful as body modification makes the world more f**ked up.
I don't agree with the person that got the corporate product branded onto himself. But it is his body to do with what he pleases, and that goes for everybody.

This is actually a common practice in europe. Its a step above tattoos where people have an "artist" cut the shape into their skin to have it scar over later for "body art" in a way its no different than a tattoo with no other color but...scar color lol. Would I do it? Hell no, I wont even get a tattoo let alone have someone cut shapes into me. And for a videogame console controller? Double no lol. Thats something you can leave to the types who love doing stuff to themselves like piercings tattoos and crap like that.
If someone wants to hurt themselves badly and intentionally to put a nintendo controller, or anything else on their body, more power to them... I sure as hell am not going to, but I wouldn't say that that guy's leg is making the world worse...

You will see that scarification is the best looking one among them.
IMO, scarification and tatoo are the only things I wold do to my body (maybe some ear piercing, but not somewhere else). The reason? You can rip off a piercing if it gets stuck and you pull.
I dunno if he want's to do that to himself then he can go for it but man he coulda picked something better that looks like crap.
