Echochrome - Image 1It looks like Sony's Echochrome for the PlayStation Portable (also available on the PlayStation 3) will only be available as a download on the PlayStation Network's PS Store. A rather surprising move considering the game was earlier reporetd to be available as both a UMD and digital download.

This news came out in a recent article in Newsweek which said, "it'll [Echochrome] be coming to North America via the PlayStation Network store only." Unfortunately, as of this article's writing, Sony has not released an official announcement regarding this, so we can't confirm or deny this statement.

If you plan on picking up Echochrome, you can expect it to be released this May. We don't have a locked date yet, so keep checking back for updates with us.

Probably because there are already copies of the game floating around from a leaked UMD rip. They probably want to keep it safe by using a DRM.

» or

maybe its because the whole game is no more than 200 mb. kind of a waste on a umd.
