New WWE video game announcement on March 28 after Annual Superstar Challenge - Image 1News has it that THQ will be making an announcement regarding a brand new WWE video game this Friday, on March 28, 2008. This particular statement will follow that 6th Annual Superstar Challenge that will be happening at the House of Blues.

16 wrestling Superstars will be taking place in an elimination tournament. No, no, there will be no ring in the middle of the place. The participants will be vying for the top spot by playing the Xbox 360 version of Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PSP). Elijah Burke will be defending his title against the other Superstars.

As for the announcement to be made, we're thinking that THQ will be introducing the coming of Smackdown vs. Raw 2009. So with that said, better keep your eyes glued to this space for a follow-up. And that's the bottom line.

» They need to advance

I for one am not a wrestling fan but my younger brother is and so, we've had every smackdown game known to the PS2/PS3 which is kewl with me, I have lots of fun beatin on fools and such even though I don't know what a particular move is called or who I used to pull it off. But with the latest (SvR2k8) it's getting boring. It was nice to see analogue used for moving correctly and intuitively but... it's just stale. The series needs a new charge of energy like it got with the first SVR.

I'm interested in seeing how the TNA wrestling game plays, because graphically it looks to be on a whole new level compared to SVR.
