Sony ain't done yet with the PSP. In a moved that might seemed as the portable's last hurrah, the company unveiled today during its Gamescom press conference a brand new PSP E-1000 model. Available only to the European market starting this Fall, this budget-friendly PSP model will go on retail for only €99.99.

"Value for money is the goal with this new model that will retail at just €99.99 (RRP), accompanied by an exciting range of PSP Essentials titles that will retail at only €9.99 (RRP) and will include Invizimals: The Lost Tribe, EyePet Adventures, FIFA 12 and many more," says SCEE in the announcement.
Unfurtunately, the E-1000 model does not include wi-fi, so your only option to play games are either via on UMD or from PlayStation Store via Media Go. The design of the upcoming handheld has also been tweaked a bit, and will come with a Charcoal Black finish, same as the once used on the slimmer PS3 model, giving it a matte finish.
Just last week, Sony also announced a brand new PSP Entertainment Pack which includes a black PSP-3000, a 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, and UMD copies of Madden NFL 12 and Need for Speed Shift.

SOLO GAMES ONLY? NO EXCITEMENT AT ALL.

People who have any brains would just but a used standard PSP for the same price or less and still enjoy all of the features.

If it only has 16MB of RAM, I don't see anybody buying this when you can get a used PSP that does more.

Then, may 64MB be too much for this new PSP?

So what's the point of buying this one if you already have a 1000 - Go?

This is being created because hardware is much more expensive in Europe. I don't know why they didn't simply lower the prices over there, but at least they are doing something about it.

No WiFi?
Looks like a model aimed at younger kids, no? Reminds me of the GBA.
