Ghosts 'n Goblins

The developers at Capcom send along some new screens for the exclusive PSP edition of the famed platformer Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins. The game uses a 3D graphics engine to give depth to objects, put you can expect to see the same side-scrolling gameplay style that we all fell in love with. Basically, your goal is to make your way through all of the stages while obliterating everything in your way. As the game progresses, you'll be able to improve skills, such as jumping, as well as learn how to use a greater number of spells and weapons. Best of all, the non-linear gameplay includes a level branching system and warp points to create a new single player campaign every time through.

It's 3D models. A good homebrew game? Ghouls N' Goblins is a *****ing classic. Putting down a game because of 2D gameplay? How idiotic.

The PSP is more suited to 2d sidescrolling games then the GBA or the DS, actually. PSP has a wider aspect screen, which means more gameplay area visible in a sidescroller. It worked great for Mega Man Maverick Hunter X.

I was never a big of of Ghosts 'n' Goblins, but this looks pretty neat.

I remember how insanely hard the SNES game was, I just hope they dont make it uber hard or atleast make a lot of save states or check points

I agree the original was insanely difficult

# It was hard..Guest 2006-06-18 01:26
But that's what was so brilliant. You had to play through a level dozens of times and not ***** up once. The PSP version will have an optional, easier difficulty setting and re-spawn you at the point where you died.

Or as we say now, "old skool hard" I remember playing this in arcades, and played a version of it in one form or another on all the computers and consoles, and it's always been bloody hard.

# GnG has a charm no nOOb wouldbe gamer can appreciateGuest 2006-10-01 22:52
Basically this is GnG on steriods. Had a quick go just now for the first time and there's alot to take in. The depth of this game is huge. I just hope the new wave of capcom developers didn't compromise the playability of the first ones. Should be hours of fun.....
