Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner is ready to dive right into another Prince of Persia game again, if a new trademark filing is any indication.

The filing, spotted by superannuation, is for a game called "Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands." The LinkedIn profile of one Marc-Antoine Senecal, a character modeler at Ubisoft, also suggests that development for the game is already underway.

Senecal's profile has since been changed from "Working on the new Prince of Persia" to "Working on the best game ever," however. Of course, that in itself can be seen as an admission that there is indeed a new PoP game in the works. Let's wait and see what Ubisoft has to say.

I just hope the PSP conversion doesn't suck balls for the programers' lazyness.

Didn't like the last game at all. Looked nice but was boring beyond belief. Too few enemies, spread too far apart and only one at a time and the rest of the gameplay wasn't all that fun either. Didn't help that having Nolan North voice the Prince had me reminded about just how better Uncharted was.

Sands of Time on my PS2 was a much better PoP game.

» ^ Agreed...

They really messed up the last game. I played it expecting it to be like all the other PoP games but was disappointed and gave the crap back to my cousin.

» What?!

That was the most enjoyable game I've played since Resident Evil 4! It was GREAT! I loved Prince of Persia!

Granted I've never played any other PoP games before this one, but it was still great...

» Let's see

Less automated platforming, better difficulty, more complex as a game...

Hey, why don't we just make a new game like the Sands of Time trilogy?

» Agree

but to a certain extent. It was an eye candy. Easily gets boring beyond that. lol

» Yeah

PoP The Sands of Time Trilogy is the best.

I wonder if the recent one would be made into trilogy also.
