New Metal Gear game to be featured in Famitsu PSP+PS3?

Snake (image by kandoken) - Image 1Since Kojima ProductionsÂ’ teaser web site opened last week, there have been lots of rumors on what it could reveal. Some are suggesting that it could be a new Metal Gear game for the Xbox 360, maybe Metal Gear 5 or the Raiden DLC for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Well, a new listing from the database of a Japanese 7-11 store may shed light on the rumors that have been circulating the past few days.

The listing reveals that a new Metal Gear game is in the works and it will be featured in an upcoming issue of Famitsu PSP+PS3 magazine. The magazine will hit shelves in Japan on May 30.

Now since it's a PlayStation magazine, it's only safe to assume that the game will either be a PSP or PS3 exclusive. So what's you take on this guys? Another Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops game perhaps? Metal Gear 5?

i also dont think kojima will ever make a MGS for the 360 because he is used to the ps3. i think that if he makes a multiplatform game it will probably be ZOE

I like loved the MGA games, loved the MPO games, loved MGS4 and all the other MG games in general, so damn, if it's something Metal Gear related and it's for the PSP or PS3--then count me in!

Metal Gear Solid +/+ Metal Gear. Theoretically he could make a game and call it Metal Gear (insert anything) and it wouldn't be Metal Gear Solid. The Solid in MGS refers to Snake. Or did originally. He may decide to just keep it on and retire Snake for someone else, who knows. Plans always change for people with creative power like Hideo, its not his fault he made a huge hit and his bosses wanted him to continue for money's sake. He can say no and turn down money (and maybe even a job) or he can embrace whats his and strive to keep the series fresh and incredible. Don't hate the developer.

MGS does not refer to Snake. Snake was in the original Metal Gear titles as well. It doesn't refer to just Solid Snake either as Solid Snake is the same Snake in the first titles as well.



Anyways. Kojima isn't "forced" to do a Metal Gear title. He always says with every new game he likes doing the series. He was the previous vice president of Konami, getting Kojima Productions for his own development purposes and as much funding for his games as he wants. It's highly doubtful he'd lose his position in the company because he wants to make a game other than Metal Gear.
