New Loco Roco demo this halloween!

Loco Roco Halloween

Adding to the currently limited number of game demos, Sony will be releasing a special Halloween version of our fluffy friend, Loco Roco (see it at the Loco Roco official site). The release is supposed to be on the 26th of this month, a few days before Halloween itself. It is also rumored that this demo will require a new firmware upgrade, 2.82. Although this isn't confirmed, I wouldn't deny it outright since Sony has done the same thing with previous demos too.

And since Loco Roco is one of my favorite games, along with most of my colleagues at QJ, we can only say that we're very excited with this surprise. Will I upgrade to 2.82? Probably not... Because well, I think I can sneak in a little fact that one of our scene's most prolific hackers is working on a little something. I'll leave the guessing to you.

Anyways, keep waiting for 26th October, we'll be covering this as it happens! And a big thanks to our loyal reader Colm for the tip!

I think the 3.0 firmware is bull***** becouse, the orginal planning was to releas it with the ps3 so I think 2.82 is coming , but why?? only security patches? or only for loco roco?

If kernel access is discovered on 2.80, then the method used to get that access will most likely be in 2.81 as well. While 2.81 may not have a working exploit yet, sony would still release a new firmware patching kernel access just in case a 2.81 exploit is found.

This is just my theory, I may be wrong.

well all im seeing is sony trying to make people update with crazy demos. this must be the third locoroco demo out.

Sony i love the sony, but please follow the system with good software. i know every will be supporting it more.

As hombrew is really taking off, it will be good to see sony work with these devs to find a way to stop iso copies.

Plus cant wait for 2.71 new edition firmware thanks yo DarkAlex and QJ ofcourse for te best downloads web site.

They changed the Hex edit for Bounty Hounds which was for 2.81 so it can play on 2.80 and it works!!

2.82 will not be released. Trust me. 6 days...For what I think, if the update is not released on the weekend, do not expect the Loco Roco Demo to be 2.82. Most likely it will run on 2.81, which can easily be hex-ed.
