Neuros VR Contest Winner Announcement!

Just a few weeks ago we got together with the fine folks at Neuros to set up a simple caption competition that would allow one lucky QJ reader to win a Neuros VR unit for themselves. Shortly thereafter we were buried in a veritable flood of entries that we painstakingly (and I mean painstakingly) picked our way through in order to come to three finalists, which you guys voted for. On Friday night (or is that Saturday morning?) the the polls closed and the votes were tallied over the weekend. Seems like we had no clear winner and no one won, so we keep the Recorder for ourselves... I keeeed, I keeed! In actual fact we had a very clear cut winner who smoked the competition with his wit and creativity, none other than Daniel, who submitted this delightful little number:

I propose an alternative caption, since QJ are letting some 12 year old insult Linux users, I'll insult QJ! The caption should read "And this is what QJ writers get up to at the weekend!"

Why the f**k did they give it to any of the finalists? I mean, that Linux one was the best out of the three, but they all were unimpressive.

I still don't see why you guys didn't give it to somebody awesome like Dark_Alex or Booster or somebody like that who works their ass off for free, simply to get underappreciate d by a bunch of *****s that don't understand what it takes to develop great homebrew.

The picture was hilarious. Homophobic? Nope, no "fear" of gay people in that picture (check the definition of a word before using it). Insult to Linux? Nope - it was insulting both major commercial operating systems. Funny? Hellz yeah.

not is definitely is a shame. i think it would've been better if it just wasn't two people picking the finalists...put up a section for the contest exclusively, put up each picture that was ok'ed for cleanliness and let the bumps do the talking. i would've loved to search through all the pictures and seen what was available. but it for you guys at qj to laugh at and no one else i guess. and hahaha at the guy saying linux is a pc.

I would like to see what competition this one had because I think that this one is kinda lame personally. The other two that were along side this one were also pretty lame. Actually linux is an OS. which makes that caption winner even more stupid. it WOULD have been funny if it was about a commercial for windows and macOS but it was pc/mac. But you're right that linux would still fall under "pc". Dumb contests...

Here we go.

Yes the caption WAS 12 year old "humor", and that's WHY it won.

You see, that's the average age of a member here, and since it's the members that voted on it, of course it won, and even though it really wasn't funny, or intelligent (mac vs pc has nothing to do with linux since you need either a mac or a pc to run linux), it really did win fair and sqaure (unless you count the fact that the users didn't get the chance to vote on the other entries)
