Nailed shut: Castlevania film adaptation not happening anymore |
Ó
It was supposed to be a Paul W.S. Anderson production (he of the Resident Evil trilogy fame), with Sylvain White heading the directorial duties. Apparently, however, the directorial job was passed onto new folks, which then led the development of the film into "development hell". First announced in 2007, the production has, in fact, gone through a lot of ups and (mosty) downs, including a postponement in production due to the writers' strike.
It was also said that the story was supposed to focus on the origins of Dracula and the uprising of the Belmont Clan. They would be the vampire-slaying family who only happens to be humanity's last hope against the blood-sucking fiends.
There goes the stake, straight for the heart. Would you even want to see a Castlevania film adaptation in the first place?

Because there was no guarantee it would have been actually good. I don't know if I can count the number of *good* video game movies on both my hands.
I wanted to see it
Am cry
The only thing i would have liked would have been the music, and thats only IF michiru yamane did it. Which I doubt.
Besides, when I say that i like castlevania, i dont want people to go ''ohh, thats the one with the really crap movie'', so maybe it is good this happened.
On both your hands? I only need one...
Unlike that picture, which will give me nightmares.
Get Uwe Boll to do it!
...
NOT!
Well that sucks! No movie, no new games.....
Man, I was hoping for this movie... well maybe they can make a new PSP game instead! Or a PS3 game! I still play SOTN (best castle game ever)!
The 2 on the PS2 are ok...
Isn't the animated version still due out? I think it was going to be loosely based on CV3...
Don't you mean (mostly)?
