MX vs AVT: Untamed from THQ - Image 1

In a developer's diary entry, Elliot Olson talks about a championship game for MX vs. ATV Untamed (Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS): The X-Cross Tournament. The tournament incorporates a number of different types of races, including two new gameplay modes: opencross and endurocross.

The X-Cross tournament basically pits you against everything the game offers in eight different racing series. The first part of the tournaments offers you three options: supercross, nationals and an all new gameplay mode, opencross. The supercross series lets you go up against 11 other players in freestyle mode where you have to do tricks and stunts to create combos.

National tracks are where you can go offroad in 10 different areas and find supermoto events, where this time you'll have to compete on-pavement. The new gameplay mode, opencross, lets you compete in long-form off-road races. All vehicle types can come together in one race for this competition.

By the end of the series is the second new gameplay mode, the endurocross where you'll have to deal with off-road elements like rocks and mud.
