MTV Games, Jerry Bruckheimer to develop new games |
Ó
Good news for fans of Jerry Bruckheimer's films: MTV Games has managed to strike a deal with the internationally renowned film and television producer to create new, original games. So why strike a deal with someone who didn't have previous experience in making games (with the exception of Bruckheimer helming the Prince of Persia movie project)? According to Jeff Yapp, MTV's Executive Vice President of Program Enterprises, he didn't care about Bruckheimer's level of video game knowledge. Yapp explained:
What I wanted was his ability to tell a story that uniquely connects to an audience and now to give him a new set of tools, which is the interactive set of tools that he has not had the opportunity to play with yet.
While the exclusive deal is already agreed upon, there are currently no available details as to what kind of games Bruckheimer has in mind. When asked what kind of games he will produce with MTV Games, Bruckheimer's response was, "I couldnÂ’t tell you until we get a team together. The gestation period is like movies. It takes a while."

Only thing worse than movies from the states has gotta be the games that come from there.
Too bad PoP died the day they went 3d. I bet this movie will still make money though.
Boo that lame piece of dirt and boooooooooooo video game movies.
prince of persia is an awesome game, no matter how many dimensions it has, and since Bruckheimer is producing the movie, its almost guaranteed to do well.
P.S. Americans own the movie business. We invented the video camera, so suck it.
Owned.
Seriously though, Bruckheimer is pretty damn good at what he does. And yea the US runs the film industry. You must have that ol Euro ***** envy (or are you from somewhere else?) that other countries seem to have toward the US. Sure our president sucks right now and the government is pretty fudged up but the US runs things don't be jealous.
Bruckheimer can tell a good story. When I heard he was behind PoP (which is a damn good series) I was pleased and at ease. I'll take a look at any game software he makes though I don't really expect much in terms of gameplay but you never know.
PS : never judge entertainment by its origin.
