More promises: Duke Nukem Trilogy coming along nicely, says Apogee

It's been a long time since we heard anything about the Duke Nukem Trilogy (PSP, DS). Despite people thinking that the game doesn't really exist (thanks to the E3 trailer sans any form of gameplay footage), Apogee insists that it is indeed real, and development is coming along "at a feverish pace." Says an Apogee rep:

Both the DS and PSP versions of the game are coming along nicely. On the DS side the graphics are blowing the socks off everyone who sees it (those lucky few outside the company that have seen it), and on the PSP, they say the depth of view is the best they have seen to date for that device.

Development is proceeding at a feverish pace on both systems. There has been implementation of some unique features specific to each system that owners will be glad to see. We are also including some cool bonus game play features that we havenÂ’t spoken about that we feel will enhance the overall way the game is played.

"Best they have seen to date"? "Blowing the socks off everyone"? I'll believe it when I see it. No, seriously Apogee, give us something to look at other than this:

» Why?

Well I can't wait, that was perhaps the greatest game I ever played as a kid. Though I do wonder why did they zoom in on his crotch towards the end. Did anyone else notice that?

» Greatest.. trailer.. EVER.

That was fantastic. It was just overly cheesy enough and repetitive that it got me laughing more than once.

some titties(IDK if this word is allowed). It's been far too long since I've played this game. It's all about gunz, b******, and money.

» ooh neat

this is an example of what happens when some jerky snack in a suit tells his PR department to polish a turd. . .

i can see it playing out in my head.

"i want you to make a trailer for E3"

"but weve got nothing to advertise, no gameplay footage, no screenshots, nothing!"

"DO YOU LIKE YOUR JOB?!?!?"

rofl. . . people need to grow up and stop insulting our intelligence with this stuff.

» useless trailer

that was completely useless, just the name, 1 picture of him, 3 titles, and a couple pictures that move around and flash...

» Well...

That's the worst piece of ***** trailer I've seen in years and nothing short of an embarrassment.

Apogee's word counts for nothing. They can either put up or stfu as far as I am concerned.

In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy Duke 3D on my PSP thanks to the efforts of homebrew devs.

At least they can produce results.
