More Patapon 2 release details, PSN version goes live May 7 |
Ó

OK, so by now I guess everybody knows that Patapon 2 won't be getting a UMD release in North America and will instead be available only as a downloadable game. There's a retail version, sure, but it'll only contain a download voucher and a manual, not a UMD.
Now, there's a five-dollar difference between the retail version (US$ 19.99) and the downloadable version (US$ 15) that's going to be available on PSN. It looks like the difference isn't only to cover packaging costs, since those who go for the retail version will get to play the game earlier.
The retail version will be on shelves May 5, and the PSN version will go live on May 7. Pre-orders will depend on the retailers. If waiting two days to save US$ 5 doesn't sound like such a hot idea to you, you might consider getting the retail version instead. Here's a pic of what you'll get:
Of course, if you really want a physical copy there's always the European version.

No UMD, No Purchase
Sorry.
i would buy the game if sony is *****ing willing to give out free Memory sticks.
There are going to be a ton of surprised people that pre-ordered it. Sony used a bait-and-switch tactic to trick people. First they bait you into pre-ordering it so you can play the demo, then a month before release they reveal that the game wont be real. I bet EVERYONE that pre-ordered it was expecting to get a real game. I hope they get sued.
Wish it came with a free Memory stick to play the game.
im sure they will get sued. the demo needed to be downloaded, therefore they probably have internet access, its not like they did anything wrong here, think about what your saying man, your just coming out stupid
