More details on the Metal Gear Solid movie |

Since then we haven't gotten much details about the project, much less any word on who will be will be working on the movie. This has changed recently as Sony Pictures Entertainment vice chairman Yair Landau revealed that his studio is developing the project. After Landau delivered a keynote address in Las Vegas, Landau told this to GameSpot:
We're working with the Metal Gear guys.... It's a very cinematic game, it really lends itself to movie telling. But the question is, How do you translate Snake's experience into a full arc that conforms to what audiences expect on the large screen?
Landau also hinted that the "Metal Gear Solid" movie may just be the beginning. Landau hints that they're working on ideas for a possible EverQuest movie.
The "Metal Gear Solid" movie is currently the highest-profile game-film project in Hollywood. Top spot used to be held by the Peter Jackson-produced Halo adaptation, which is now unfortunately in development limbo.
Given how much we've been burned before by Uwe Boll (we're not saying he sucks, that's a matter of opinion, we believe it's safe to say though, that we all expected a lot more from his films), we urge caution. Let's see...what else has Sony Pictures Entertainment done before? As a distributor, they've had their hands in the Spider-Man franchise. What else? Oh, and as a production company they've done what? Hmn...oh yeah, "Spider-Man 2".
We're now asking you folks: Should we all be hopeful? Should we expect something that is miles away from the fan-made film we embedded above?

pft, you're perfectly righ t. This video looks like some japanese cosplay amateur play. It is definitively some pictures shooted with some amateur camcorder, actors are as "good" as in the average korean drama...
The actors are all Asian and snake is American. It is fan based cause the quality sucks and I don't think Hideo Kojima would approve of cheap production or cheap non real looking actors.

Look below the post. The writer says that it is a fan-made film. The real film should be much more better. I don't know why Kojima decided to let Sony Pictures film the movie. They should have gone with a studio that is much more better than Sony.

I doubt they're all that dumb, its mostly just trolling looking for a rise. Considering a good Prosumer cam is around 4,000 and looks like they use daylighting since no one can really get their hands on a good lighting kit, they did a great job. Just copy the trailer exactly and shoot it.
Kinda hard to mess up really, the only problem is the fighting. Honestly these people need to take at least one class in Judo or some other form of "combat" so you have a understanding instead of haymaker city.

This is a Sony movie. Many movies they have made have turned out great. Games that have becomes mvies also have made lots of money and where good. Just look at Silent Hill the movie was one of the best games that became a movie and there are talks of another.
Sony also made the Resident Evil films and there are two that have so far come out and the third is in the makes.
So from what I have said Sony should make a good movie of Metal Gear Solid.

Yup, that truly was horrible. Half the fighting took place on a basketball court. The choreography was poor, and the choice of actors was poor. One of the "badasses" he fought on the basketball court (without sleeves) had thin and flabby arms. At least the women were attractive : ) Even the cosplay clothes made me cringe.

Man, that was pure danish cheddar cheese that vid. That dude playing snake in the vid seriously looks nothing like the rough looking david hayter in the game. Looks like one of the clean shaven fake rap kids you see walking in pimpin shoes in Shibuya or harajuku.

QJ write the stuff for you to read, not for you to ignore and claim 'ZOMG, This looks *****, what have they done to MGS!?!'. And, for a fan-made film, it isn't actually that bad (and yeah, the girl playing Meryl looks a lot like Tifa...lucky Snake :-p).
Let's just hope the ACTUAL film will do Kojima-san and his team proud and respect the MGS franchise.

Yea I think this clip is fake too. No offence, but this looks like a fan made movie. It uses the same abandoned building set for all the scenes.
And the guy playing snake doesnt really know any form of martial arts and the fighting looks fake. Im sure this is not a product of Sony Pictures or Studio Kojima.

actually snake does get away from 3 soldiers in mgs1 but it is done very nicely in Twin Snakes with the martial arts and everything...

If they use 3D movie, it will be easy to make the movie the same as the game (voice, faces etc)

I think the movie should start with MGS3. We can then, without confusion, follow the story up to MGS4. I doubt that Sony will make the films all the way up to MGS4, but still, they should start with MGS3. And in the end of the fan-made film, it says "Cold War Beginning" under the date. That might be a hint.

They make this movie in JApan and then give us a subtitleed version. American action movies have been mostly trash for the last 15 years. the Japanese make much better action movies. Maybe they make everyone in the game the nationality they are in the game (doubt it), and shot it with a japanese director, and crew.
I can tell you right now, if this movie dosen't at least have a japenese director, it will suck, period.
Probably because he has been working with Sony for years.
That and the fact they they own half the movies EVER made, I'm sure he had no problem putting confidence in Sony.
