A press release from Eidos confirms (again) what was confirmed in by Eidos in our October 29 article (which basically confirmed the things that Eidos confirmed in our June 16 article). Let's get everything straight about Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary, shall we?
  • TRA Lara lah lah lah. The game is called Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary, or simply Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
  • Enhanced. It uses an "enhanced" Tomb Raider: Legend engine. According to Eidos, this means that the engine, graphics, technology, and physics will bring the game "up to today's standards" and will give us gamers "a completely new gameplay experience." (That's press release talk; we're excited about the game and would rather try it out! Come on Eidos, give us some screenshots!) "We are re-telling an incredible story using today's technology," said Eidos Senior Brand Manager Kathryn Clements.
  • 10th AnniversaryShe's inspired. Eidos reminds us that the original Tomb Raider sold over 7 million copies worldwide. This game, says Eidos, will be "faithfully preserving the elements which made the original Tomb Raider such a classic."
  • Remake and more. In other words, Eidos heard all us fans begging for a remake of the first game, but Eidos took it a step further and made a whole new version. In the words of Kathryn Clements: "we've taken all of the key moments from the original game and put them into the context of a brand new Tomb Raider adventure."
  • Artifact. She's looking for the Scion.
The game is currently being developed by Crystal Dynamics, but it'll be ready for the PSP (and PS2 and PC) sometime in 2007. We've been waiting for this since June; we're not sure if we can wait that much longer.

But if the improvements make it worth the wait...

We must learn our limits. We are all something, but none of us are everything.

Why'd you say that Ron? Why? You're my hero. And you say something dirty. Like poop. Poop mouth. I hate you Ron Burgundy, I hate you.

» Why not?

Why not on xbox?

Its the most powerful current-gen console!!!

I can't understund such a decision.

Look at SC:DA....

PS2 Version sucks against xbox Version :(:(:(

Becouse xbox is done. I think the xbox gets only EA titles anymore. Microsoft abandoned the xbox so why would anyone make games for it? And the ps keeps selling it 's a huge market they can 't ignore. But atleast they could release it on xbox360 en ps3.
