Shigeru Miyamoto - Image 1Tokyo's CESA Development Conference (CEDEC) will be armed to the hilt with star game developers from the Orient. The two biggest icons, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Capcom's Keiji Inafune, will deliver the show's keynote.

Miyamoto-san will headline the show with a speech titled “Where’s a good place to start development.” Inafune has kept what he'll be talking about under wraps for the moment.

The event happens from September 11 to September 13, 2008. We'll be feeding you updates when the event gets going.

LOL

"Miyamoto-san will headline the show with a speech titled "Where’s a good place to start development."

I'm sure that will be very informative! Considering all he does is tell a development team "New Mario game. Spherical worlds. You figure out the rest. I'll take all the credit."

A good place would be a non-mario themed game.

Shut up, lowlife.

There's more to Nintendo than Mario, numb nuts.

In any case, it seems you utterly fail to understand the concept of a mascot.

Luigi as well . :-p

@MCS

You're actually quite right. Nintendo NEEDS to stop focusing on pumping otu crappy Mario-spinoffs, and more on decent, original titles.

DUR.

Metroid, Zelda, Pokemon (I'm just baiting the trolls on this one, will they bite?).

There's a bunch of games that if they took Mario they would be perfectly acceptable games on their own. Baseball, soccer, basketball, etc...

Although, I loath sports games, so given the same logic, EA needs to stop making MLB, NBA, NFL, Madden, blah, blah, blah, blah... Troll, troll, troll...

if it werent for these mascots where would they be

the nintendo staples are the only thing keeping them afloat in the competative charts. mario, zelda, metroid, kong, kirby fzero. without these guys nintendo would have all but died a long time ago.
