Exclusive limited edition card book included with European versions of Kojima Productions' Metal Gear Acid

Konami of Europe has announced that the European versions of Metal Gear Acid for the PSPTM (PlayStation®Portable), will include a limited edition 20-page book, giving vital information on all the cards used in the turn-based action title.

Due for release as a launch title alongside the PSPTM on September 1st, Metal Gear Acid is a strategy game, and utilises a card-based control system. Set within the famed Metal Gear universe and starring series hero Solid Snake, Metal Gear Acid is set in 2016 and begins as a terrorist faction hijacks a jumbo jet carrying a man lined up to be the next US President. The terrorists demand the handing over of a project known only as 'Pythagoras', which is understood to be in development on the isolated Lobito Island. Thus, controlling Snake, the player must determine what 'Pythagoras' is and steal it from the base.

Players begin the game with a selection of cards that offer different actions during key situations. Over 200 cards can be collected, and allow Snake to sneak around the island, take out guards and reach his targets. As with previous Metal Gear titles, Metal Gear Acid is packed with plot twists, while the gameplay constantly evolves as further cards and abilities become available. The many cards Metal Gear Acid offers give Snake a wealth of offensive possibilities, weapons and characters, while different decks allow for themed missions unique to each collection, further expanding the challenge.

Each of the cards and its attributes are fully detailed in the lavish 20-page booklet. The book as been designed by the development team to assist players as they explore Lobito Island, and give prior knowledge of cards as they are collected. It will also make the formulation of strategies easier as players will know the various strengths and weaknesses of the moves and weapons at Snake's disposal.

"Kojima Productions were keen to give something special to European PSPTM owners, and this book will be a real aid to owners of Metal Gear Acid," commented Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of European Product Management of Konami of Europe. "Konami is delighted to be able to offer the book as an exclusive European bonus, and we are sure that Kojima's involvement will make it a very desirable collector's item."

Konami of Europe has also launched a web site featuring information and assets on Metal Gear Acid and other forthcoming titles. All major European languages are supported.

I love Metal Gear Ac!d but they really never explained the mechanics enough. The tutorial was short and had little information. I remember when the guy was telling you about cost. Heres basically what he said "Well cost is kinda like time...and it's kinda like...yeah. I'll tell you more about that later." He never told us about it later...I was always perplexed by this and had to look online for the answer. It's great that Europeans are getting this booklet because it will probably explain more.
