Madden NFL 07 Passes 2 Million Mark

Madden NFL 07 has become the fastest-selling Madden game in history. In its first week of release, the game sold over two million copies! This is, of course, counting all platforms and all editions of the game. If you average it out amongst the GameCube, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation2, PlayStation Portable, GBA, PC, Xbox 360 Hall of Fame Edition, and PlayStation2 Hall of Fame Edition versions (poor NGage), the game averages to about 200,000 copies per console sold. And that's A LOT.

This number is further supported by last week's Best Buy top games chart:

4. Madden NFL 07: Hall of Fame Edition (PS2)
5. Madden NFL 07: Hall of Fame Edition (360)

8. Dead Rising (360)
9. Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day (NDS)
10. New Super Mario Bros. (NDS)

Go Go America! The 7 Maddens and Dead Rising knocked down Brain Age and Mario down after spending months at the top two slots! I wonder how the Canadian, Australian, and European charts look? For those wondering, last week's Japan Top 10 had 10 DS games with Final Fantasy III in the #1 slot with over 500,000 copies sold in five days.

So, who cares anyway? Only Madden fanboys would really care that the game took nearly all the positions in the Top 10 chart. BTW, wasn't Madden practically the ONLY game that came out??? It's also the ONLY NFL game to boot, so I don't think it's hard to understand that Madden fanboys and NFL diehards are the only ones who bought this overhyped piece of trash that EA calls a game. Online was lag-a-riffic...wow, 3D grass... Sorry, EA needs competition in order to stir their creative juices. Monopolies are NEVER a good thing...

Hahaha, I knew we'd get some EA fanboys in here. Come on, wake up and smell the coffee. If you're trying to tell me that EA is seriously trying their best every year, you're *****ing hallucinating!! ! Madden 06 was a turd and Madden 07 is just as bad. What's worse is that they got the ESPN license and they've got *****! They throw some ESPN podcasts, ticker tape, and video clips and they call that integration??? Yeah, it's *****in' lame, how about using ESPN for presentation as well, morons!

BTW, I still don't give a ***** if EA fanboys want to continue buying their crap. It's their money, if they want to waste it, it's up to them. I love the fact that now they're going to make even more money by using in-game ads and I bet they won't even lower the prices of their games even though they'll make millions off those ads. EA fanboys will just clamor up the excuse "It makes the game more realistic." Whatever, fanboys. We see the truth and you're blinded by EA's schemes and lies.

There's a certain attitude that is present in youth.

It's the "I can only see things from my perspective, and any other perspective is wrong" attitude. It usually stays with you into your mid twenties, and for many it never goes away.

Many hate EA, and have some good points as to why they hate them, but to assume that just because somebody doesn't hate them, or doesn't share your view, that they're an "EA fanboy" is just closed minded.

I bet most of the haters don't even like sports games to begin with.

If I enjoy playing a game, then I don't really care about any of the "politics" envolved, I'm just going to play the game, and enjoy myself.

The NFL series is at least improving (if only slightly) every year!

The NHL series (for the PC anyways) is actually getting worse every year! I'm so glad that I try before I buy.

#26, I think I belong here even if I don't like football. I'm Canadian. Our sport, hockey, is just as physical - if not more physical - than football =)
