Jim Ward - Image 1Bit of bad news here: it seems that LucasArts President Jim Ward has resigned from his post, after a very long and storied carrier with the world's most famous space opera. That's ten years of tenure being hung up. From what we hear from the company and Jim Ward himself, things are ending in good terms for all parties involved.

Why did Jim Ward leave his post, you ask? While the man himself did not offer any explanation, Margaret Grohne, PR director for the game development department of Lucas Films, says that Ward's reasons for leaving are purely personal.

She also reassured fans that not only is the sudden vacancy in LucasArts' echelon of executives being taken care of properly, the fact that Jim Ward has left the building will not affect any upcoming titles or release dates. We can all rest easy, knowing that Ward has left LucasArts with all loose ends tied up.

Here's Jim Ward's statement about his experience with the LucasArts team, verbatim:

I am so proud of all people and the work we've done together at LucasArts over the last four years. It's been an incredible experience. Together we've rebooted the company and set LucasArts on a path to even greater success. This is a fantastic team and they are positioned for their best year ever.

We wish Jim Ward all the best in his future endeavors.
