Loco Roco halloween demo out now

Your Halloween's about to get just a little bit crrrrraaaazierrr because we now have the special Halloween demo for Loco Roco! But before you roll, tilt, and bounce with joy, you should know that contrary to what we earlier reported, the demo only requires a 2.71 firmware (*happy happy joy joy*), and NOT 2.82.

Here are the download instructions:

Using your PC, locate or create a folder named "PSP" on the Memory Stick Duo media. Within the "PSP" folder, locate or create a folder named "GAME." Within that folder, create another one and name it "UCUS98662." Take note that all folder names must all be in uppercase letters.

Then, you can now download the demo and save it in the "UCUS98662" folder you created earlier. It's important that you follow these procedures because if you fail to save the file in the correct location and under the right filename, the data won't be recognized by the system.

Location: Save in the "UCUS98662" folder
Filename: Save as "EBOOT.PBP"

All noted? Good, then what are y'all waiting for? Go lololoco over Loco Roco and download the demo now!

Dam I thought it would be at least halloween stages or something, but...since one person said it's not then... I guess it's not special enough for me to download it.

On another hand, its good to see that sony got smarter a bit for making on fw 2.71 so that hombrew people can play it.

Seriously, if they have many demo in this way, then their UMD sales might get extra boost.

yes this is the real demo. the one posted above by Eranmane but for it to work you have to rename the UCES00304-Halloween folder to UCES00304.

just delete "-Halloween" from the end. it worked for me.

all i did was remove "-Haloween" from the end and it worked for me. i'm on 1.5 with devhook.46 emulating 2.71 and it works fine first try. i like the sound the pumkins make when you bounce of them.

AHEM, this demo needs a 2.82 update folks. It seems as though pspupdates has gotten it wrong. I hope someone can change it so that it'll werk on lower fw's like the other demos that peeps have hexed.

I downloaded the demo posted by Eranmane and i got this message on my fw 2.8 ta-082 psp

1) An icon displays a badly cropped image the pic above, it's also titled locoroco(tm)

2) Loads the psp screen then goes to black for ten second while it boots of MS

3) Exits to the underlying theme then displays this game can not be played.

Every demo including the RR2 has worked, is it this file or one of the goblins I have expierenced since using the tiff exploits (i.e. not going into suspend mode serveral times after testing them)on my fairly new psp.

No! They have updated security in the demos....:( there is no way to make these run on a lower version that 2.82 or 2.81 for Moto GP 2. Well their might be a way but hex editing doesnt work.

The real one works on 2.71. I tested it. Here is what you need to do:

Get the real halloween demo of course

Get dark alex's ridge racer decrypter

Open up the halloween demo in PBP Unpacker

Extract all the files somewhere (desktop for example)

copy the data.psp to the root of your memory stick.

run dark alex's decrypter test on the psp.

go to usb mode again and copy the data_out.psp to your desktop or somewhere.

rename it to data.psp

open pbp unpacker

click open and select your param.sfo

change where it says 2.82 to 2.71

save the file

click new and add your icon, your back pic, the data.psp and the param.sfo.

save it

copy it to X:\PSP\GAME\UCE S00304

I have only tested it in 2.71 SE-B but will most likely work in 2.71 HEN C and Devhook with 2.71. It probably won't work in regular 2.71.

Please test it if you have hen c or dvehook with 2.71

eranmanes link is legit and the demo works great, do what the other guy said. just take the "-halloween" off the end and you have yourself a creepy fun level of locoroco.

the song in it is incredibly annoying though, not cute just obnoxious

Thats dumb. This is just the old LocoRoco. And the halloween Locoroco does require 2.82 firmware. But you can justy eaisly hex edit it to 2.8 or below

the demo does require 2.81 but it has been hexed and it works on 2.71. believe me, I have played it. the game sux anyway.

Um I noticed this wasn't working in anything low enough firmware version (below 2.82) to be useful to homebrewers, so I took the liberty of using Dark Alex's handy tool and recompiled the demo it works on 2.71 now via devhook or CW, whichever.

use XVI32 to replace what the fw requirement but make sure the (top bar) is set to "text string" as well as the bottom, by typing it in (2.81) then the second line below it type the desired fw (2.80) and hit replace all then after you get a prompt telling you its found atleast "1" save it and viola

Oh, and yeah, the demo on this site is the original.

tho, when i exited, devhook froze, i did a hard reboot and was back at 1.50 so whatever.

theres nothing special about it, its just a nice level,

As many have said before, it works great, just delete the "-Hallloween" part. The only problem there is is that if you are running devhook, it freezes when you exit, but just hard reboot.

And of course, NO HEX NECESSARY with this one.
