Same As Japanese & PSPMagDemo ?

Is this English version the same level as the Japanese Loco Roco version? In other words, Is this a completely new Loco Roco level that hasn't been seen before? In regards to this actual news, I find it exciting. This opens up a whole new idea of downloading FULL ENGLISH games from YourPSP.com, and hopefully Publishers will feel encouraged to let a small demo of their upcoming games let loose in a way os advertising their game.

English version just not as good

Having played both, the japanese version is a lot better than this version. I wonder why? Something to do with the music I think. The japanese version's music fits the game better, IMO.

just opened this up in a hex editor searched for 2.71 changed it to 2.70 and now this works on 2.70 1.5 users are out of luck becase the demo needs some files that are installed though 2.7 update to run

I have 2 PSP's

1 white & 1 black, both F/W 1.5. There is NO way I'm updating either for this rubbish. If sony wants to entice people like me into updating their F/W, then they need to give ALOT more than this garbage. The reason being, I have over 2000 (Nintendo, Sega, Neo Geo) roms at my disposal though the PSP's use of emulation. F/W 1.5 Forever YOU HEAR ME SONY, I'M NEVER UPDATING

There is a 2.60 version.

Just to let you all know there is a 2.60 version of the demo. It was covermounted with PSP The Official Guide Book Volume 4 2006 (from Playstation 2 official magazine-uk), the UMD it was on - I can confirm was 2.60 and I was able to run portions of it with Dev Hook (but not the Loco Roco demo unfortunatly). You might be able to order a back issue from the magazines' subscriptions deparment. (UK) 0870 444 8656 (OVERSEAS) +441458271100 The UMD is Region 2 encoded (why I dont know). The magazine was rather expensive at £6.99 - but the cover mounted UMD has a lot of cool demos and stuff on it. Hope this helps guys.

UK people, dont be tempted, just buy the UK PSP mag which has 8 demos including LocoRoco... and THEY ALL WORK WITH 2.6. Don't be dragged into 2.71 when you don't need it. Its only £4.99, definitely worth it, the lemmings and mercury demos are the best

Anyway, Loco Rocos! :) Versions look pretty much the same otherwise though. Found 18 :) The moon thing is really nice. This game is so sweet, and I can still bear it, it's amazing.

I registered my Japanese PSP in Europe and got Spiderman 2 too. There wasn't an option for the PSP1000 then, but I just picked a different type, no problems.

I checked in Smiths on the day that mag should have been released and the issue I saw on the shelves didn't have a demo disc nor any mention of one inside the mag. So when was the mag released? Is it still on the shelves? What demo's are on the disc? Looks like I'm on a mission into town to grab a copy tomorrow, if you can still get it. '(^_^)'

You have to have 15 Locos and jsut stand under the moon and then the a jumping platform should appear, from there you should be able to get to the platfrom.

What nobody mentioned anywhere but might be interesting is that you can also select the typically four other languages you can usually select in Europe (including Spanish, German, French)

This version is better...

...than the one that comes on the PSP magazine cover UMD, as the magazine version is based on old code from around November 2005. This downloadable version has different SFX and the music is a lot cuter as the locorocos actually sing in their fictional language.

I played the japanese game thru a few times untill I got a perfect score, but I had to download this and play thru to see if this had any difrences, turns out its exactly the same *shrugs* oh well.

I agree with ThatDude. If you have a PSP on 1.5, doesn't that mean you're not getting any games for it? What kind of cheap bastards are you people? Besides, 1.5 can't play GTA, Katamari, Monster Hunter Freedom, Lemmings, LocoRoco, Field Commander... Do a bunch of crappy paint programs, emulators for systems no one uses, and other useless crap (and meybe 1 or 2 gems) really outmatch this many good REAL games? Also, nobody ever ask again whether a dev is releasing a game for 1.5. That isn't happening anymore so get over yourselves. Sony is only fighting homebrew to fight piracy. If they want to fight piracy they have to force people to upgrade. How? New feature incentives (PS1 emu, fools!) and games.

i have updated my psp to 2.71, im not proud of it, but i cant be bothered with homebrew- its too complicated and not that good. besides, loco roco demo is well good. and what are u homebrewers going to do when the addons like the camera attchment, gps, etc come out?

You can register a non-European PSP

I registered my Japanese white unit, it might ahve only prompted me for 2 model choices, and not the PSP-1000 I have so I jsut chose the first option. My registration worked. I'm one of those people who has been unimpressed with the home brew I have been able to run (mine came with 2.01 on it), so I had no qualms about upgrading. Been playing the game off and on this afternoon and am now looking forwards to the game coming out. Only catch is I can't get the music out of my head. I might search out a copy of the Japanese demo to see what the original music sounds like, as some one above reckoned it was better.

Look, seriously, if you want homebrew, then dont upgrade. If you want the demo, upgrade. stop complaining and just do it. its up to you. but think about it. i have both a 1.5 and a 2.71. i use home brew, and i have the demo. serioulsy tho, the homebrews and emulators, are they really better than the developed games? isnt this degrading your psp? its pulling away from its full potential. not only that, its all illegal. hell, if you think its that great, y not just steal urself a new psp and upgrade that too? i have a 1.5 psp too, so i cant possibly be ignorant in this area. why not go the legal way and just get a NDS or get the real system? the NDS has remade N64 games, and its all legit. do you really want to cheat sony and the other companies out of the money they spent trying to make your psp experience better? if this continues, then of course there wont be a PS1 emu, since sony will be cheated out enough to close down their gaming department. do you really want the company you so fuly supported when you bought the psp to go out of bussiness just because you were too cheap to go tou and BUY the games? instead you just dl them. this is money that sony rightfully deserves, yet you are just taking it away from them. that is one reason why sony has to raise prices, to counteract the effects of pirating. if you just bought it from the begining, then the people going legit wont have this problem. are you just that big an *****? the more you take from sony, the less they;ll have for the ps3 or a next gen psp. i have two psp's remember that, so im not saying im completely innocent of it either. but ive stopped recently because ive thought of this. homebrew is just dragging down the psp, and will affect the ps3 too. stop being *****s. Innovative!

I just played through it once. Anyone who says the PSP isn't innovative needs to give this a try. Not quite like anything I ever played (kinda like this "tar" flash game) and crazy amounts of fun!
