After being delayed for a week due to some technical issues, SCEE Cambridge's portable adaptation of the LittleBigPlanet universe is finally heading to the PlayStation store tomorrow.
According to  SCEA's post over at the PlayStation blog, the development team has been working really hard to bring LittleBigPlanet PSP to PSP Go owners and we're very glad to have the download available before the break.

But that's not all guys, for all PSP owners who already purchased the game, a new patch is now available for download. This update greatly improve the physics performance and  tools in the Create mode of the game.

To download the new online update:
  • Be sure to have online access on your PSP
  • On the XMB, highlight the LittleBigPlanet  game icon
  • Open up the menu with and select “Update”
  • Continue with the on-screen instructions

it says "This update greatly improve the physics performance and tools in the Create mode of the game", maybe this means you can jump better, and more options in the create mode (self explanatory).

Well, I DID noticed a glitch in the game, in one of the firsts levels, I got stuck if I don't jump precisly well in a trampoline, and I have to select the option to kill myself to start from the checkpoint circle. Can't remember which level it was...

hmph! Stupid patches. If they get it right the first time we wouldnt have to worry about downloading this mess. Same goes for all DLC! Lazy develepors, nuff said!

ok, I agree with the patches. But "same goes for all DLC" ? I don't really get that part, like you're saying they should release all the DLC at once? I think that wouldn't sell as well as it does with releasing a bit each time... Plus they are constantly making DLC, it's not that they had everything prepared from before the game was released, so it's impossible to release all DLC at once.

I believe what he was saying, and forgive me if I've misinterpreted it, is that quite a few commercial games are released with features on the disc but then charge to unlock the content. Or in the case of lots of EA games - features that have to be purchased that would have been nice free. Like in Madden (I don't play these series so I'm just going off hearsay).

Or in LBP case selling tiny little textures for characters. Total rip off.

What iam saying is...

back in the day they released brand new games once. We did not have to worry about patches, DLC, or the dredful UPDATES.

Ok well i can settle for the updates, because some of them are awesome, and when i say "awesome" i mean they kind of keep the system brand new.

But the patches and DLC...

DLC- Sad excuse for content, that should not be downloaded. It should have allready been on the disc, and should not have to charge to unlock it. For example, The characters in Marvel Ultimate Aliance 2. Make up your mind, include them or not!

Patches- Stop rushing!!! If making mistakes is the reason for majority of patches, which are suppose to fix idk "Physics".

If they took their time a bit further in developing the game they would know to put more characters, weabons, costumes in the game instead of realizing after the game has been launched to put the characters in the game, or even added more levels.

Then again i can understand the levels, but characters, weapons, costumes, that is just too far.

This goes for everything.

Now i know everyone if sadly hyped up over downloading things, and everything will supposedly be downloaded in the crappy future, but this is a BAD way to start things off. It is so unecessary. Enough with all this mess!

They dont want me to come up in their coorporation giving orders, because I will actually make them WORK!

Like i keep saying "get it right the first time"!

Yeah, let them work on every game for at least 5 years, that way we only get 10 games a year but they're super polished!

/sarcasm

Get real dude, companies have to make a profit too, or guess what, they'll quit making them

I've been looking around the net and the "update" feature on games (LBP is the first) was a feature added in 6.10 firmware. Since we only have 5.50 we don't have the option. I've been looking around the normal channels looking to see if someone gets it if they have uploaded the file off their memory stick to see if it is transferrable to another PSP or if it is hardcoded to that one. I think this calls for another look at getting CFW updated at least to 6.10 just so we can get updates. Sony is thinking of everything to drownout CFW. I may have to Timemachine myself just to try to get the update.

Except it wouldn't take years, it would at most take an extra few weeks to a months worth of testing and Q+A. If you have no idea about how these things work then don't speak up.

The problem is that publishers enforce strict deadlines with penalties for breaching. Since Nintendo are their own publisher too they can afford to spend the extra time fine tuning a game, which is why the only Nintendo game to ever require a patch was Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (Berry fix) that was administered from a newer Pokemon GBA game.

A little extra time wouldn't kill these developers. If anything it would help their brand to release quality products.

Thaaaank you!

Quality over numbers sony_player!

If we get quality, then we get what we pay for! No hassals no irritations! If we get numbers we do not get less quality, but instead patches, DLC, you know things that should have been there in the first place. Not "lets wait two weeks after the game has been released to put more characters, costumes, etc in it"! We get things that makes us consumers feel as though it is mandatory to own it.

"companies have to make a profit too"

If they want more of my money then they better step their game up! I know somewhere down the line you read a comment stating "I only buy good games, and i pirate the rest". yeaa -_- umm like I said get it right the first time.

Honestly when i say "you get what you pay for"

a great example can be the nintendo DS.

You get video games, and online play and of course the simple little extra features that no one really cares about because only video games matter.

But,

wit the PSP, yes you get what you pay for but, there are updates that change things. Then it becomes something you did not ask for but its still there (camera icon), but youre all like "why did the put this there instead of that? EX Digital comic books. Well in a way I guess you did not get what you paid for then.

Consumers are not in control anymore, or are todays videogames way ahead of their time?

Hasn't been on the US store until today. It's not that expensive for us--but that's probably because we're on different currencies. Nice pirating.

# WHY are you whining?SaDuWo 2009-11-26 23:44
The game is stable enough upon release, the patches are to increase stability as they can and add any content they decide to, it's not like they're FORCING you to PAY for simple content, they're giving you this patch free. The reason why older games didn't get patches were because they WEREN'T AROUND WHEN THE INTERNET WAS AS SPREAD. SO many games have patches now-a-days, and those that don't have things they suffer from often times. Stop whining about lazy developers, the ***** gets out to you and all you do is ***** about it having to be a download that'll take a few minutes IF THAT of your time. As for purchasing DLC, I can agree that's bullcrap, but don't whine about free patches they provide when they've already sold the game +/
