Level 5 to showcase a genre-making game at TGS 07 |
Ó
The Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA) just released a partial list of exhibitors that will be attending this year's Tokyo Game Show or TGS. Since this is just an initial announcement, most titles are made for the Japanese audience and we have no idea whether these will be localized for English-speaking markets. We brought up the topic just the same because there are some entries in the list that we know you are quite familiar with. More importantly, it looks like development studio Level 5 has plans to shake the game genre to its very core as it included an untitled entry that is "set to create a new genre". Here's the list:
- Imabikisou, Sega, PlayStation 3, Adventure
- Senjou no Valkyria, Sega, PlayStation 3, RPG
- Sakura Taisen DS, Sega, DS, RPG
- Galaxy Angel II Mugen Kairou no Kagi, Broccoli, PlayStation 2, adventure/simulation
- Rune Factory 2, Marvelous Interactive, DS, RPG
- Dungeon Explorer, Hudson, PSP, action RPG
- Layton Kyouju to Akuma no Hako, Level 5, tba, adventure
- Untitled game set to create a new genre, Level 5, tba, tba

I never player a Level5 game that didn't get boring and repetetive after 8 - 15 hours, I don't expect them to start changing that now
lol what game doesn't after 8-15 hours?
I didnt know level 5 made DS games.
They shouldn't be hyping this, it'll only set people up for disappointment. I guess it's too late now, but they should have just shocked everyone with it, at least that way they might have gotten a better reaction.
I suppose you're not an RPG player, or you like more action RPG games, none are "the best", but mine are level5 games :D.
Go figure, I played FFX for 280 hours, never got bored of that. I played RogueGalaxy and DarkCloud2(dark chronicle) for about 8 - 13 hours, but damn, those games knew how to bore the ***** out of me.
how about a MMOFPSRPG! That would be an MMO, FPS and an RPG all rolled into one. Sound interesting? How about adding a little simulation to it as well like the control of vehicles in the drivers perspective while sticking to the MMO FPS RPG mixed genre. Would end up being the best of all worlds wrapped into a nice and neat tidy package. Sounds like a winner to me but, thats just me.
I think I've played a game like that, back on windows 98 or 95. Can't remember the name, but it had almost all of that except the MMO part.
