ZOE - Image 1

After Hideo Kojima finishes working on his last pair of Metal Gear Solid games (or so it seems for now), the A-list producer will have more time on his hands to work on other games. For the fans of his other brainchild, Zone of the Enders, (I'm looking at you, papajag, TheRockness) good news: Kojima posted on his blog that he would be working on the next ZOE...someday.

Zone of the Enders 2, also known as Anubis in Japan, didn't exactly turn out to be a chart-topper. "Everything was due to an error by me, the producer," Kojima confessed. "At that time, if I hadn't made a mistake with the release date, Anubis might have ended up a major Kojima Productions title to follow MGS, still seeing development as a series."

Now, Kojima's got a much better plan in mind - a release date mishap not being one of them. "Also, we feel that if we do it, we'd like to make Anubis succeed this time," he wrote. "I already have a game plan and method for sales in my head." But if this game plan involves another chain of teaser countdowns, please Kojima-san, spare us the agony.

Right now, however, the development queue at Kojima Productions still has its hands full, to he can't promise working on ZOE just yet. "I cannot make a promise about time," he wrote. "However, I can promise a sequel."

"make Anubis succeed this time" - that sounds like a prequal idea to me =P

» oh

hell yeaaa! (times two)

when he gets around to it, ZoE will make amazing in next gen. It already looked pretty badass on the ps2.

» about time.

All they need to do is just market is more than they did ZOE1 & 2. Honestly, most people just bought the hell out of ZOE1 because it had the MGS2 demo with it.

Sell ZOE3 with a demo for his next game, and that'll help.

» Indeed.

This is great news. Thanks Glenn. Sorry about the plagiarism comment the other day. I clearly need to stop posting when I've been drinking.

» Man...

I came late for this party. This is alright news but at least we know there's a sequel. ZoE3 needs to be a huge game.

» He can't promise a time.

So what he means is that he will go back on his word about 20 more times making more *****ty Metal Gear Solid titles UNTIL FINALLY he releases Zone of Enders 3.

» .

I'm getting annoyed with this whole spin-off trend that devs seem to love today.

I mean, look at friggin' Sega. All they've been doing is these stupid Sonic Allstar Racing games or whatever. If they got their ***** together and made an actual *good* game, they wouldn't be so close to being bankrupt right now.

Then we have Rising and Peace Walker, which might be great games, but lay off the MGS for a bit, Kojima. What happened to ZOE? How about a new Snatcher or something? Goddamn.

» Sega...

I haven't even really considered anything Sega since they quit making consoles.
