Koji "IGA" Igarashi has been involved with Konami's Castlevania franchise since for a dozen years now. I was personally surprised that the man considered to be a Castlevania icon wasn't anywhere near the E3 stage when Konami announced Lords of Shadow (PS3, Xbox 360), but it appears that we may be hearing more from him in a few months' time.

Kotaku reports that according to Konami spokesman Jay Boor, IGA is "still at Konami, and he is still working on projects." As to what these "projects" are, well, Boor says we'll have to wait until the Tokyo Game Show to find out. This year's TGS is scheduled for late September.

The last Castlevania project IGA was involved with was the much-derided 3D Wii title Castlevania Judgment. Maybe his next game would be a return to 2D after all the criticism that Judgment received.

This guy might as well be the producer for Dynasty Warriors. He made one good game, and then has cloned the crap out it ever since. Milking an old concept for all its worth and really depleting the series. They needed someone to freshen up the stale repetitive game making style this guy has. SOTN was awesome, everything since then has been pretty much the same crap with LESS content. Bring on Lord of Shadows.

LoS is the first Castlevania game to have me excited in AGES! IMO franchises need to be mixed up with new people every so often. BTW IGA is such a strange dude... his moustash and how he dressed... always reminds me of the guy from V for Vendetta.
