Killzone: Liberation demo now downloadable |
Guerrilla Games has just put up a placeholder page for Killzone: Liberation, and what do you know? They've got something special for all the nice little warmongers out there.
The new Killzone site has the demo up for download. For folks who weren't able to get a UMD of the demo in the mail, this will come as a welcome surprise. For people who've already tried the demo, you're getting the chance to try out multiplayer with your friends.
As Seb Downie, lead tester for Guerrilla Games, notes on their forums:
The demo is nothing new to the people who have the UMD version, but it will allow you to play some Adhoc multiplayer without the need of 2 UMDs and give people who have not played the game a chance to sample a level.
The demo requires at least FW version 3.02.
Of course, since 3.02's been liberated from the clutches of firmware protection (*snicker*), some testing should give you guys an indication of whether you can have your demo and your homebrew too. Enjoy!

It can be hex edited you just need a hex editing program to do it.

yeah why dont they have USA on the signup page and my model number isnt there psp-1001 guess i have to buy a new psp.
Yeah, the full game is out in the U.S. but I don't think it is in EU (I don't know, I could be wrong) which would explain why they don't have a US registration...
I admit this game isnt that great, Im not sure if the multiplayer is up yet becasue the last time i played it the multiplayer wasnt even up.
I don't know what sony is thinking, but for PSP owners it's good as the full game probably isn't worth the money. So when you try the demo and realize it sucks you won't need to waste money just to find out

Has been available in EU also for quite some time already. I've been playing mine only for a few weeks though. Very nice game! Got it for 35$... some pre-christmas sale. :)
I kinda don't understand why this was released when the full US version is already out in stores...oh well...I guess it's good for the Int'l people...plus..I already have the UMD demo.

no, you mexican't upgrade 3.00 to Oe-b at the moment.
I just hex-edited the demo for 2.81 and up firmwares (for those poor souls with higher than 2.80 firmware) and it works, i've tested it on my 2.81 PSP and it works fine all the way through to the end of the demo

I thought this was an awesome game. Not close to MPO, but still good enough that i'll buy it now. Yes, the multipayer is for ad-hoc only right now. I love this free demo shiot! kudos.......

Yeah, after playing the demo, the game doesn't quite play as good as it looks. Its fun for what your getting out of it (overhead shooter and all), but not quite equal to the hype it got in reviews

Full games works fine on 302oea. Dunno about the demo, haven't tried it.
I say let em shove it if they want us all ti update to FW 3.02.

All they care about is money. That is why we get little from them. That's also why this and many other sites exist.
cuz the folder name has to be 'UCES00279-Demo'
the us already has its own psp site (psp.us.playstation.com). Unfortunately most of the good stuff is at yourpsp.com
I hex edited the demo using XVI32 freeware hex editor and changed where it said 3.02 in the EBOOT to 3.00 and it works. It works the same with all the other demos too. Just keep in mind, whenever the hex editor starts up, the insert function is started. Just press the insert button on the keyboard to get rid of that problem and you're set.
just change the kernel to 3.02 kernel. in "RECOVERY MODE".
and it is awesome :) Worth owning in every way!
