Ken Kutaragi among others to receive CES Hall of Fame honors - Image 1Since Ken Kutaragi left the PlayStation family, the former Sony official has received a lot of awards for his contributions to the video game industry in general. The last of these was DICE 08's Lifetime Achievement Award.

This time, Kutaragi has just been given an award by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The "father of the PlayStation" was chosen, along with 11 others, to receive the CE Hall of Fame honors. The group has yet to furnished a complete list of inductees but alongside Ken Kutaragi, Sennheiser Electronic Corp. founder Fritz Sennheiser was also chosen.

Sennheiser is responsible for pioneering the microphone and headphone technology. Aside from that, Motorola's Martin Cooper and Donald Linder were also chosen to receive the Hall of Fame award for developing the first practical mobile phone in 1973.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place during CEA's Industry Forum in Las Vegas on October 21.
