Why the ZR1, you ask? Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi says that aside from the fact that GM cars helped shape his love for cars as a child, it's to show support for hard-pressed North American automakers.
With all the automotive industry in the world at a crisis, I know that North American automakers are especially in a very difficult situation, and I understand the background and the reasons behind this.
And I can easily envision these things affecting our works as well. After all, as you well know, the game Gran Turismo is a video game that grew thanks to the insight and vision of the automotive industry, and in effect nurtured by its kindness, in its very womb.
And thatÂ’s why I wanted us to make something that could cheer up those in the industry.
Yamauchi also hinted at something found towards the end of Gran Turismo that ties in with the game's cover art. I don't know much about cars so the only thing I can think of is an unlockable special ZR1. What do you guys think?

Also, even after all these years, I'm pretty pleased with how the game turned out. This looks amazing.

I'm not crapping on this game by any means. I've been playing Gran Turismo since the original. I've bought them all on release day, cash in hand. I've got several wheels and a racing *****pit. I love the Gran Turismo games and I will be buying this on release day as well.
But you've got to have realistic expectations of what this game will look like and it will simply not look that good while you're playing it.
If those are screenshots from the game's intro video however, then it is believable. They'll still have been enlarged and cleaned up though since you'll notice those two pictures are much larger than the PSP's 480 X 272 resolution. :)

I'm pretty sure we've all seen the game actually running on a PSP, recorded from crap-quality cameras and it came damn close to what these two other screens show. The video didn't show any jaggies whatsoever like the old screenshots did.

You can think what you want, but you're living in a fantasy land if you think there are going to be 800 vehicles that all have 3d modeled wheels, emblems, head light and tail light assemblies, grilles, etc. Add in who *knows* how many tracks and this is even more far out. And this is supposed to be a 1GB download?
You're absolutely fooling yourself if you think they're going to make a game look as smooth at GT5 and still keep it under 1GB.
