Katamari Cases at EB?

A reader of ours named Kenny (who also goes by Cr85bro13) decided to drop in to his local EB Games the other day. After asking one of the clerks for some PSP demos, to his surprise he was handed a novelty case from Me and My Katamari. As you can see from the picture, this is certainly an odd looking case, especially for the alienated few who haven't seen or heard of Katamari. These were originally only going to be offered for Japanese pre-orders, but they've clearly made their presence in the States too. Although we can't say for sure if every store will be like this, it can't hurt to check out an EB Games store near you to see if they have any Katamari cases in stock.

Thanks again to Kenny/Cr85bro13 for informing us and providing the picture!

# Gamestop too...Guest 2006-04-03 11:38
They are also available at Gamestops... they're in the flyer as well.

I got mine yesterday. Word to the wise, don't actually use the case unless you don't mind hairline scratches all across your screen. They're cool cases, but they're not really high quality or super functional.

i called multiple EB's in my area and they said that they gave them away to people who reserved the game or when they bought it while they had a few left, im sure you if you went to a EB games less traveled they would possibly have a couple left?

# the case is big enoughGuest 2006-04-03 12:53
Two anonymous coward #2,

I think the case is to be used in conjunction with the original crappy black spongy cover. The katamari case is big enough to encompass both the psp cover and psp.

Just a helpful tip...

I have one. I won a japanese version from pspvault(great site as well) and I received the pouch w/ it.

Besides the fact that it's "limited" thing, it's nothing more than cheap and poorly made chinese product... Think Hello Kitty style pink pouches for girls.... xcept in the shape of the prince's head... and that it's poorly done imo.

These were supposedly available at GameStop for people willing to pre-order M&M Katamari. I still haven't gotten mine, though the game came about two weeks ago. If they're in retail stores, I'm going to have to start getting pissed. I don't really care that much about the case (I probably would have pre-ordered anyway) but it's the principle of the thing - if you offer it as a bennie to those who pre-order, they should get first.

I got that pouch when they released the US version here in Canada. I didnt have to get the Jp version preorder.

But the case is pretty crappy, and big I would never use it. But it's a cool collector item.
