Resistance Retribution - Image 1

So, I'm sure some of you guys are already busy with your new game. Yeap. Here's something to justify yesterday's Day 1 purchase of Resistance: Retribution - it's so that you can start practicing your way towards an oh-so-sweet prize. Because as of today, SCEA and Global Gaming has already launched the Road to Retribution Tournament.

At stake here are Sony prizes that amount to a total of US$ 25,000: from giveaway PSP bundles, to SonyStyle products - heck, why not a leather bomber jacket straight out of Resistance. From the PlayStation Blog:

Registration for the 2v2 and 4v4 ladders kicks off today, and runs through May 10, 2009. The top players from the ladders will move up to compete in the bracket playoffs from May 13, 2009 to May 31, 2009.

As for fine print, only gamers in US and Canada may participate. Also, participants should be aged 13 or older - which is weird, considering that Retribution is rated M (Mature 17+) by the ESRB. Head to the Via link below to fill up a registration form if you want to join the tournament. Make sure to read everything!

Thanks to manas girdhar for the heads up!

Not worth the hassle

Hackers are already online using their "CWCheat".

Too bad

It's kinda sad to see something as fun and useful as CWCheat being used to ruin many games' online gameplay experience. Sony definitely will have to consider this problem.

No outsiders

Well whats most annoying is that gamers outside U.S and Canada arent even allowed to register....What would others Gamers do????

Standard

That is often the case. Most online competitions are restrcited to specific continents.

thats annoying

Well The way sony organises these contests....i doubt they are making fans not allowing gamers from other sountries to participate....And den they cry bout piracy....ofcourse people will pirate if they cant use all the functions....use your brain Sony
