» You're out of it

Pokemon continues to sell strong in ALL regions. If you combine Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, that outsells every video game released this generation. That includes Halo 2, GTA: San Andreas, and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

» hmmm...

What about the Mario Brothers franchise?

If you combine how many copies were sold of Halo 1 and 2, I can't imagine that the two Pokemon games you mentioned (Ruby/Sapphire) did better for total sales. The Halo 2 launch was the largest sales weekend for a game ever. Also, What about adding together two of the sales numbers for some of the Gran Turismo games? They did extremely well.

I dunno, I plan on giving my kids educational kids games not stupid imaginary dinosaur/monster games like Pokemon. Talk about Brain Rot. The next generation of Japanese kids won't be able to hold their own in a fight or an arguement unless they have their Pikachu handy....

Pokemon + Kid's brains = Mental Hilarity.

Not to say GTA is any better for influencing kids...but that is an arguement for another day.

» you want translation?

"Kahashima Ryuuta Kyouju no Nou o Kitaeru Otona no DS Training"

Kahashima Ryuuta Kyouju = name

no = 's

nou = brain/mind

o kitaeru = to train/increase

otona = adult

thus, Kahashima Ryuuta Kyouju's brain increase, adult's DS training.

I'm not exactly sure whether 'kyouju' is a name, or a title to a person's name. Too lazy to look in dictionary.

How can Final Fantasy XII not be in the top spot, the japs love them, and it's reveiwed as a good game.

I can't wait for it to come out this year in Europe.

» RE: #8

I actually combined Ruby and Sapphire because they're basically the same game. I imagine that very few people bought both games. However, you are right. Ruby + Sapphire does not outsel Halo + Halo 2 (by my numbers).

Halo + Halo 2: 12785925

Ruby + Sapphire: 12764020

Both Pokemon games did outsell Halo. I'd include Emerald, but I'm fairly sure there are many who bought Ruby or Sapphire who also bought Emerald version. I would say combining Ruby and Sapphire sales is legit, just like people usually combine Nintendogs sales.

Pokemon is actually a very deep game once you get down to the multiplayer aspects. But I don't expect children or people who think they're too old for Pokemon to understand. I gave up on Pokemon a while back, but I still can respect the complexity it comes with nowadays.
