Nintendo Mario Party DS Nintendo DS - Image 1Media Create has just released the Japan video game sales figures from November 5 to November 11. Nintendo is once again taking top honors with four of their games breaking the top ten list.

Mario Party DS took the top slot in the rankings with 235,000 units sold followed by Koei's Shin Sangoku Musou 5 for the PlayStation 3 and Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii which moved 188,000 and 74,000 copies respectively.

Some were surprised when Mario Party DS trumped Super Mario Galaxy in terms of sales for the week. We have to remember that Super Mario Galaxy was released back in November 1 in Japan. In those four days, gamers the game sold 256,000 copies. If Mario Party DS sold over 16,000 copies on its fourth day, then we can probably say that it had a stronger start.

Speaking of strong starts, the charts revealed quite a few games which just broke into the top ten list. Here are the top ten best selling games in Japan:

  2. [PS3] Shin Sangoku Musou 5 (Koei) - 188,000 / NEW

i can't reply to your post but yeah that's kinda what i thought too. More DS's than Wii's explains this fairly easily.

Um, does anyone know what this game is? Shin Sangoku Musou 5 (Koei)
