Japan: PSP still hot and heavy in hardware charts |

Gamers in Japan are still going wild for the Sony PlayStation Portable. The handheld is still on top of the charts in hardware sales, still being drawn by strong sales of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G which is currently the second best selling game in Japan.
The Wii, which remained on third place for some time now since the PSP entered on top, went up a notch and now stands in second place - although not by a wide margin from the DS Lite. Sales were probably boosted by the presence of Mario Kart Wii.
All things considered, all of the platforms performed more or less the same as the previous week. Here are the rest of the hardware sales figures in Japan for the week of April 27:
- PSP: 92,411
- Wii: 48,796
- DS Lite: 42,435
- PS3: 9,107
- PS2: 7,108
- Xbox 360: 1,283

Bloody hell! PSP is slaughtering the competition in Japan. Who would have thought?! Well done PSP, well done Capcom!

it's... japan. Anyway if sony had the psp we have now with video out and with the downloadables games the psp will not suffer of low sales in the beginning and maybe the UMD survived with the video out.
pretty soon, psp will replace most modern phones. woo hoo

*sob*I want to go to Japan too! Japan is the Holy Grail for every gamer.. Thats it.. i will concentrate on my studies, i will struggle, i will go to Japan and have a nice job. Men! this country is boring!
