Japan: hardware sales from January 14 to 20 |

For the week of January 14 to 20, Nintendo led the rest of the pack in software sales in Japan. Wii and DS games dominated the first four places in the chart, and 16 of the top 30 games are Nintendo DS games.
With that in mind, it's really comes to no surprise that the Nintendo platforms - the DS and the Wii - once again lead the pack for the same week. Understandably, sales have gone down for all platforms since the holiday season.
Here are the hardware sales numbers for Japan for the week ending on January 20:
- DS Lite - 88,575
- Wii - 81,638
- PSP - 79,923
- PS3 - 38,117
- PS2 - 13,539
- Xbox 360 - 4,552

you expect. The Japanese wont except anything that isnt from there country. theyde rather support a failing system from there than support an AMERICAN made console.
the wii isnt exactly failing now is... the japs to have different tastes though lol
LOL! his refering to ps3!!! Anyway... The only "failing" Console i kno is the 360!!! LOL! 33% 360!!! Ged it, "FAILING"!!!
I believe the Japanese people are the top tech-phyles they prefer better technology and the ps3 offers that over the 360 in many ways... Now what about the Wii you will probably ask..Well the Wii with its advanced motion sensor capabilities and all those motion controlled addons appears to be more advance than the 360 and apparently the ps3 all together but that will change soon and the ps3 will take the lead... Thats how I see it though..sure I accept the fact that the top sellers are their own product but it not realistic to me at least to be the major driving factor of those sale figures...
And lots of other titles like that, surely valkyrie on the battlefield (don't know the actual name, something like Senjou no Valkyria), MGS4 (not sure for this one), disgaea 3 (those japs are lucky), yakuza 3 (or 2, don't remember), etneral sonata? (if it finally pops)
It's simply lacking JRPGs. Eternal sonata would sells consoles like no other games. And it would be funny since it would be selling ps3 while it was on x360 way before, lol. But what do you want heh? Having a console ready for Final fantasy, white knight story, ff versus 13, kingdom hearts, etc is better, lol.
