Jack Thompson's Kotaku suit shot down, will re-file case |

As an updated to our previous post, the complaint that Jack Thompson filed yesterday was turned down by Federal District Court Judge Paul Huck on the basis of having (as GamePolitics reports) "failed to follow the proper federal court procedure for amending a complaint."From yesterday's report, we learned that Thompson had amended online blog Kotaku and its parent company Gawker Media onto the lawsuit he had filed earlier.
To further quote GamePolitics:
For his part, Thompson admits his mistake and pleads ignorance [...], citing distractions he says were caused today by the Florida Bar and an unnamed game website which published his home address and phone number.
Furthermore, it's also been reported that Thompson would raise the issue once again and re-file the amendment to the case - this time, following the rules and other courtroom procedures.

Jack is probably the stupidest person ever. Why does he always try to say that games alone are the problem? And why couldn't he file the case properly; isn't he a lawyer? I always thought that lawyers might know something about filing a case when they are dealing with them all the time. IDK it could just be me who thinks that...He is still the dumbest creature on Earth, not so much for hating games, but because his claims are twisted and warped just enough for it to sound like games are a huge threat.
If that's true, we can all sit back and wait for nature to take it's course. Natural selection FTW!

Well I think that the USA should have Gun laws like the UK!!! that would reduce the Gun related problems and will save lives!!. I know that the Gun Lobby is powerfull but for how long?. I also know that if one person gets a hold of a gun easy in the US then the Other person will get a gun just to defend himself because the other person has one. I say there are too many Guns in the US and something must be done with the Guns themselfs, not using videogames as an excuse for the problems, its the people and their Guns!!!

If Jack Thomson is so convinced that video games turn people into gun toting, axe wielding murderers why doesn't he put his theory to the test. I suggest he plays violent video games such as Manhunt, GTA, Doom, State of Emergency etc for a year and see if he is converted into a crazed killer. At the end of the day there is more chance of him being assimiliated by the borg than there is of him becoming a killer through video games!

In a way, I'm sorry to say this but didn't our founding fathers of the USA WANT us to have the right to bear firearms? I am sorry that so many people have been killed with guns, but just because someone outlaws the sale and possession of guns doesn't mean that people will quit buying guns. And by the way, the US isn't the UK which means that results aren't necessarily going to be the same if guns WERE banned. Guns and other weapons are always going to be around forever, so get over it, sorry but it's true...
