Jack Thompson is ready to help Electronic Arts with Take-Two's takeover bid |
We've been constantly bringing you guys with news regarding the Electronic Arts and the Take-Two Interactive takeover. It was only recently that T2 turned down EA's offer because they're still looking at other offers from other firms.
Even if the merger didn't push through, Analyst Doug Creutz pointed out that EA was still the best partner for T2. Jack Thompson thinks so too since, as it turns out, he's been "a longtime Take-Two shareholder." In fact, he has just released an announcement that he's willing to assist EA in their efforts in acquiring the game publisher.
In an email he sent out to the EA CEO, John RIccitiello, Thompson spoke fearlessly about T2's big wig Strauss Zelnick by saying:
I am delighted to work with Electronic Arts to evict the Zelnick Trojan Horse from within Take-TwoÂ’s corporate walls. In doing so, I can get the new Take-Two into the clear as to the trouble I and others can send its way.
Zelnick is the source of trouble headed Take-TwoÂ’s way, not I, and EA can make the case, with my help, that such trouble can be avoided.
What's surprising about this is that, the people from GamePolitics were able to dig up some astounding past information regarding Thompson in their archives. They found out Thompson earlier had been a Sims 2 basher. He stated that:
[The Sims 2 contains] “full frontal nudity, including nipples, penises, labia, and pubic hair. The nudity placed there by the publisher/maker, Electronic Arts, is accessed by the use of a simple code that removes what is called ‘the blur’ which obscures the genital areas.
In other words, the game was released to the public by the manufacturer knowing that the full frontal nudity was resident on the game and would be accessed by use of a simple code widely provided on the InternetÂ…

Actually, it's not his move that makes him "popular" with the crowd. It's these kind of news that does. It's the media that made him very well known. And I hate to say this but, you, QJ, is actually making Thompson's uproar even more "popular".
If people would just ignore Thompson, I guess the gaming world would've been a better place.
This guy is a complete idiot, he can't know anything about gaming, theres no nudity on sims unless you change player models or edit the game. Anyway he likes to censor nudity like its unnatural.
I think he wants to help EA so that Grand Theft Auto can become less violent, well no, thats not about to happen. What a fool.
Let's see Jack thompsn get the damn thing done, and then have EA back stab him to show the world what they REALLY thought! Esencally what would be happening woudl be this: Jack Thompson pays for the hot cofee mods :)
Jack needs to spend a lot more time playing a mime simulator. I'm sure after enough practice, he'll be able to STFU for once.
Someone should strip old JT nude and drop him from a helicopter into the artic wild and record his adventure. They should call it "JT Take Two: The Journey Home".

But to reiterate, Jack Thompson owns shares in Take Two but actually wants their games banning and now wants to help EA buy T2 even though he *****ed about their Sims games.

...You mean, after all these years and the slamming on Take2. Now, it turns out this guy OWNS STOCK in that very company. ...I wonder exactly HOW MUCH he owns. One could almost wonder if he was purposely attacking them, not for any REAL concern over the level of adult content in their games ... but so that the negative publicity could increase public attention to their product, drive sales, and ...increase the value of stock (which he owns). --What a chump!
He just BSed EA into thinking he owns shares in Take 2 interactive, thats so fake, he does not, thats BS thats made by the king of stupidity.
He doesnt own anything of Take 2, infact over the years, all hes been doing has been attacking Take 2 interactive for every violent videogame that they brought out.
That crap he sent to EA is nothing but a lie, he hates Take 2, hes always hated Take 2, he wants GTA and Bioshock and every game that they own to be gone for good.

He say attacks Take 2 after all these years and then tells EA that he OWNS shares in the company.

the off chance that he really does have stock in take two would make sense though... its in fact an almost ingenious plan if you think about it. Buy a ton of stock in a company you hate, then create a bunch of mostly false publicity, that publicity sparks more people to buy the game and makes stock prices go sky high, and he would have gotten it all done while doing his job.
