Hot PXL

Atari have announced a new title for the PSP, called Hot PXL. Hot PXL is a game based on street culture, and will be made up of over 200 minigames focusing on street and digital lifestyle. The gamer takes control of the half-skater, half-nerd character of Djon. The fast-paced microgames promises to be very addictive, considering the gaming history of Atari.

The minigames will include blasting through an old-school style video game, busting tricks on a skateboard or a BMX, stage-diving at a pixellated concert, and just trying to cross a busy digital street. Hot PXL will take full advantage of the PSP's online abilities, with downloadable content also being released through an online interface. HOT PXL is expected to be released Christmas 2006

Atari making homebrew games? lol

» Ha

Atari's gaming history?

Consider Atari's *recent* gaming history, then you wouldn't hold your breath too much for any future title.

Still, this looks quite fun. I wouldn't pay £34.99 for such an idea though.

» stupid

this sounds like warioware and i hated that game. itll be good if the mini games are better, but unrolling a roll of TP is way gay. now busting through old school games would be awesome.

» Wow so new

Oh boy I wish Nintendo would make a game like this, you know with mini games and a short time limit, and then it cou. . . oh wait.

As much as I like my PSP, I like it for the homebrew only. All of this copy cat *****e is so sad it is embarrasing. What is the messege sony is trying to send?

The reason you need a PSP is because it can try and copy what the competition has? So sad.

» hmmm

possibilities of being fun, possibilities of being awful..... and unless PSP games start to get cheaper it aint going to sell well, atleast in UK where PSP games cost way to much

» Word up!

This is soo hot, fresh, slamin, nang, hectic, mad, crazy, heavy etc etc...... stop trying to be "cool" sony and just make good games

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 04:07
» They dont care about games anymore

Sony is turning into what Nintendo was 10 years ago.. refusing to listen to what customers want..and look what nintendo was reduced to. making their last home system with all the thought and marketing on the crappy controller.

» heh

Warioware is so freaking bad I can't believe it.

by Anonymous Coward - 2006-04-26 08:02
» Geez

» hmm

Could possibly be a fun game if it didn't look like the graphics have been applied with various photoshop filters :S woo, fire the artists time..

» Eh

I still think should realease demos for all PSP games . That way people don't go out and waste their wad on a gamble of getting a good game or a bad game. I know they come out with demos for games they think might sell most and all, but why not make demos for eveygame, the customer has a right to see before buying I would think Just my opinion
