Yet another frustratingly lacking-in-detail clue that a Final Fantasy VII remake is in the works. An ad found in the latest issue of the Japanese mag DeGenki PlayStation has the following message for hopefuls:"CLOUD message... Coming Soon."
Will Squeenix finally announce a Final Fantasy VII remake? Or is it an ad for an Advent Children Complete event? I'm leaning on the first one though.
I'm sure you guys remember that Crisis Core had a secret ending showing a remake of Final Fantasy VII's opening FMV. If that's not enough of a hint, it even ended with the message "to be continued in Final Fantasy VII."
Can't Square Enix just come out and say it already? Gah. Anyway, here's the FMV again for you, just so you can share my frustration.

Obviously its an advert for Advent Children Complete.
Plus the ending on crisis core isnt really secret. And the message "to be continued in Final Fantasy VII." is just to show continuity of how the story leads into FF7.
obviously right. But then, whats the harm in hoping? I mean, they are probably just jerking us around while they continue to mess up the story, but is it so bad that we continue to hope for a remake? I dont think so.
Enough with this Square, just say either way if there is a FF7 remake.
Frankly I don't hold much hope even if they do remake it. There'd be too much pressure to 'update' bits, like replace the ATB system with something more modern. Plus I'd only get it for the PSP. Just me but I can't play RPGs on the big screen.

its just for the advent children, but i could be wrong. id like to see a remake just as much as the next person, but i think i remember reading somewhere that SE said they would never remake it
I'm pretty sure it's just going to show Cloud in Dissidia in it's next issue, see the page to the left of it? They're pics of how summons will work in Dissidia so yeah it's Dissidia

There has already been a lot of promotion for the new Advent Children release. It would be kind of bizarre to have such a cryptic message to hype up something that is already expected. A remake would be badass. I would bet on a PSP remake over anything though, seeing as how these next gen FF games are costing SE insane amounts of time and money. But a PS3 remake like that tech demo would be f***in magnificent.
I'm guessing Square Enix is gonna make a 30 second CGI with Cloud delivering the message : "Sorry guys my game won't be remade so stop asking for it, besides i don't wanna watch Aeris gets stabbed again on PS3 so yea"

Otherwise...I'm sticking to my guns and saying that they won't be making one...
I reckon they should make all the old games (1 to 6) in 3D style...
They can leave out the voices if they want....but just seeing those games in full 3D would be a sight to see...
People who already have some of the later ports of those games (such as FF6 on PS1) would probably have a rough idea of how it'd turn out...thanks to the CGI cut-scenes they put in those games...

They should really do the Remake for both PS3 and PC!
Squeenix has said it before, and I'll repeat it for them. A remake is not coming for a LONG time, if not at all. And for the guys who are still obsessing over FFVII, move on. FFVII wasn't the best Final Fantasy I've played. There are more games out there, go play them.
I recommend BioShock. That game is f*cking awesome.
CLOUD's message was telling everyone to stop asking for an FF7 remake and then he killed himself just to prove that he would never portray himself again.....I would laugh.
I have lost all faith in Square. They transformed from a company who cared about what their fans wanted to a money hoarding monopoly. I don't care anymore.

If they did make a re-make would it be turn-based like the original - a classic with upgraded graphics. or would it be the same story with new kick ass game play. which is most preferred? they creative ways they could take the story are endless!

Really, why not create a FF7 timeline with updated pictures that clearly states that the pictures are for timeline purposes only. And I mean scenes in Crisis Core that weren't in CGI and make a still shot of that scene in CGI graphics and put it in the timeline, then do the same with the original FF7, and wait. There will be people jumping up and down screaming about a remake of crisis core and ff7 for the ps3.

Ok..that's true...those are suitable remakes...
But I'm talking remakes on a console like PS3 or even PS2...with full 3D models...post-FFX, if you would...
I don't have a DS...sadly -_- so that's why I want them on the PS2/3...
I'd even be content if they were able to port the DS games to PSP...
i agree with ya....hated it when Zack died T_T balled my eyes out even when i was playing the japanese version of the game. As for the remake, well id love them to make one and well they did show off by saying to be continued in FF7...but like many have said could just be a way to tell people where this story was leading too....
However why would they say to be continued in FF7 if the game hasnt been on shelves for over 8 years now...i hope for a remake but thats a slim chance...

Now I'm not to sure because my japanses could be a lil off, but I think Cloud just said "wii would like to play" meaning this could be coming to the wii everyone.

"CLOUD" in all caps, in THAT exact font, is the name of Square's CG magazine/DVD. Volume 1 came out last year, I'm guessing this is just hinting at Volume 2.
