Hasbro And Activision To Bring Us Transformers |
Ó
I remember I used to think the lyrics to the theme song were "Robots in the skies!" Some potentially cool news about a promising Transformers movie
project, currently under the direction of one Mr. Michael "blow 'em up
good" Bay. It seems Hasbro, the company behind the Transformers toyline
has granted Activision global licensing rights (excluding Japan
apparently) to produce games based on the Transformers brand, the first
of which will tie into the new movie. Mildly interesting snippets from
the press release include:"'Transformers' has all of the elements necessary to translate incredibly well into video games," said Mike Griffith, president and CEO, Activision Publishing, Inc. "We look forward to bringing the 'Transformers' robots to life with the latest interactive technology and graphics."
The rest of the release goes on to mention that we can expect to see games released on consoles, handhelds and PC with no specific mention of next gen iterations but c'mon, surely they must know that kicking butt as Optimus Prime in 720p is every fans dream?

Robots in Disguise!
Yeah it is, but I meant that I USED to think it was "Robots in the skies", back when I used to tie a red towel around my neck and jump off rooftops.
The special effects might look good but I wonder if Megatron is still going to shrink when transformed into a gun.
He hasn't been for a long time since Hasbro started taking flak about it from "concerned parties". In recent years Megatron's been a tank, cus you know, those don't kill people.
Cool. Transformer!
What we need, (and maybe some of you will agree also), is a Generation 1 Transformers game to not only span across our PSP handheld consoles, but also to our PC's, and other system console games that we may own.
There hasn't been a single decent Transformers game, (In my opinion), that has been based on the best ever Transformers series to hit the 80's era of days of old, but not forgotten. I'm talking about Generation 1 Transformers ! And who wouldn't want to play as Optimus Prime, or some other old school Gen 1 Transformer like Shockwave or Megatron, or Jazz, etc. ?
Hasbro, get off your butts and give us what we want, a long awaited Transformers Gen 1 game. Heh heh... It's long over due. ; )
