Harris Interactive: Sony Still the Best Brand |

Harris Interactive has just concluded their annual survey of 2,351 adults in the USA, known as their "Best Brands" poll. They've found that Sony is still ruling the roost (for the 7th year in a row!). Although some gamers may not be happy about the price of the PS3, this poll might be seen to show that their attitudes might change when the PS3 actually starts selling.
Microsoft, which made it into the top ten last year, didn't manage enough votes this time around. Sony is the only company in the list this year that deals with video games.
According to the survey, here are the ten Best Brands for 2006:
1. Sony
2. Dell
3. Coca-Cola
4. Toyota
5. Ford
6. Honda
7. Hewlett Packard
8. General Electric
9. Kraft Foods
10. Apple
Other brands that receive a substantial number of mentions but not enough to make the top-10 list included Chevrolet, Panasonic, Pepsi Cola, Nike and Maytag.

I have a DVD/CD Burner made by sony, never had a failure durring or after a burn. And they made the PSP :) suprising microsoft is missing from the list, i'd expect them to be at least 5th
This has hardly anything to do with the PS3. Sony makes a lot of appliances.

Yeah, but this is also an indication that if people still think Sony is the number one brand, and have a name with the people, the name Playstation 3 may ring out to them, and help the sales and what not of the PS3...This is good news.
Dell should totally not be there. Ford, HP, GE, and Kraft look kinda weird in there too...and Apple should be in the top 3.
i hate playstation with a passion but i love my psp more than i love my xbox360 but then againn i hate ps2,ps3! and i have a huge question! why love ps3? i meen its not like halo is on it or ne thing? and all of the games are made for japanese people! like shinobi and ***** like that! well what i really think is that your not an true american if you dont have an xbox or xbox360 or if you never played Halo!

BURN! lol. Hey Xbox fanboy there, Halo isn't everything. I have a xbox 360 and I can say right now that its probably not going to be any better than the PS3. There going to be about the same. I'm looking forward to some of the franchaises that are coming from the PS2 to the PS3.

I will did not and NEVER WILL even look at the xbox because it american. I hate usa period. I love japan and sony because they are just better in evrything. HALO is way overrated. It whas only sold good because there whas no other FPS on the xbox. If it would come out on the PC people would not even bother downloading it.

Just so you know, Halo _did_ come out on the PC and people _did_ buy it. Then again, it still isn't that great.
why is honda on this list

so people will trust the ps3 because they all know sony for all they did for them: dvd players, tvs, camcorders, mp3 players, digital cameras, notebooks, media storage, tv stands, papers for printers, monitors, printers, battery charger, bluethoot USB adapters, burners, VAIO, location free, digital video recorder, speakers, walkman, boombox, clocks, car speaker, car radio mp3, amplifiers... etc etc..
anyway, I suppose those people who bought a lot form sony will support sony with the ps3 instead of the 360, and will maybe buy the ps3 for the blue-ray player built-in, this is a good news because if the ps3 sells well, we should be abl to see a price drop! the fastest the ps3 sells, the faster we'll se a price drop!!
Anyway I have 250$ saved for my future ps3, I'll have enough for launch, but I'll wait in early 2k7 for the games I want =D ( GTA4, FF13, MGS4, GT5 DMC4 etc etc )
Just a couple of months ago, C|Net (I think it was C|Net anyway) did an article on the best and worst electronics/gadgets. They voted Sony as the worst company of the year.

I dunno about that, they're pretty reliable imo. But Toyotas are the top in affordable, working class type vehicles.
wtf?!?!?! kraft foods?!?!?! lol , and people , don't say you hate America , say you hate USA , to be truthful all american countries have been abused of the USA and then you count us as USA ( beleive me I know , I'm from Puerto Rico , USA's colony and the USA takes us more than what we get from them ). Anyways may the latin american alliance grow stronger with great leaders arising now ( presidents of Venezuela , Bolivia , Chile and Costa Rica and not to forget our governer of Puerto Rico , and vengeance to Spain and USA for how they have treated us latin americans! ).

See, you pay a little more and the quality/tactics of the company sometimes can come into question...But for a huge company with a huge product line, they do pretty damn good and come out with some pretty slick stuff.

i have a couple of dell computers all the way from 2002 and they're still working like a charm
sony my ass, the products are built cheaply and crappy my ps2 (disc read error) psp( dust and bout 6 dead pixels)
the only thing sony cares about is money so they make every thing as cheaply as possible.
And dell Bull and ***** aka the poor mans computer they Make sony look GOOD only about 2 out of 10 make it to the store intact the rest fall apart and break

who's the imbesil that said that hondas alway break down. Honda and Toyota are sinonimous for quality. I have a 96 civic and I've changed the oil on it a total of maybe 6 times in 7 years, and it's never given me any problems. Try that with an american car and see what happens.
