.hack//Link is set to be released in two variants, so it seems Namco Bandai has decided. One variant will be the usual standalone copy of the game, while the other one will be a special package.

The special package adds the .hack//Link, a .hack "historical disc", as well as an HD .hack//re-birth blu-ray disc to the collection. These will come in a sweet special box, with the words "History of AURA" plastered all over it.

It would also appear that two previously lost episodes of .hack will be included in Link. dothackers' Kukkai dug up the info, and says:

The first story is .hack//ZERO. Locked in eternal hiatus following the Japanese-only release of its first novel, .hack//ZERO bridges the gap between .hack//SIGN and the original .hack games. Although some hints were made in .hack and in the Terminal Disc, the series never saw a proper conlusion until now.

The second one, on the other hand, is .hack//ChupChopCase. This was never really released as an actual product, but was actually a story that was meant to bridge .hack and .hack//GU.

No price details have yet been revealed for the special edition, but we'll be sure to let you in on the information as soon as we get it. In the meantime, enjoy the couple of scans lifted off from Weekly Famitsu.

They better release that special edition over here. The special disc that came with the first .hack//GU game was one of the most informative and interesting extras ever.

Much like the extra discs that came with the first 4 and the fully integrated extras in the GU 3 games, the extras included with the .hack games just add so much to the story.
