GUN Showdown PackshotWe've earlier featured the official trailer of Activision's Gun Showdown for the PSP. Now we have more info about this one! Gun Showdown is a free roaming action-adventure that expands the untamed West by challenging players to shoot, knife and dynamite their way through an epic story with new wireless multiplayer and quick-play modes, missions, and gameplay features.

Work both sides of the law as a gunslinger doling out vengeance as you have a showdown against corrupt lawmen, a murderous preacher, a renegade army psychopath, and merciless outlaws.

The games key features include an increased depth of gameplay wherein future players can extend their GUN experience with five new missions for the PSP that extend the rich story as well as new weapons including mines and throwing knives. Pick-up and Play Action, where you can jump into a host of Quick-Play modes including Shotgun Games, Mission Challenge and good old fashioned Texas HoldÂ’em.

The game also offers wireless multiplayer functionality so you can team up or go head-to-head in Showdown mode, which includes Deathmatch, Golden Cross and Last Man Standing gameplay features via the PSPÂ’s wireless network capabilities.

It also has various multiple gameplay styles which include strategic gunplay and precision shooting, stealth tactics and use of explosives. Embark on numerous side missions to master gun slinging and horse riding. Players can unlock new weapons and upgrade skills and abilities to improve their weapon and equipment performance.

The game is also blessed with an epic stroyline which was written by Hollywood scriptwriter Randall Jahnson (“Mask of Zorro,” “The Doors”), GUN Showdown’s engrossing storyline and plot progression will transport players back in time to the lawless West where they encounter ladies of the night, a murderous preacher, and many other characters.

Lastly, players battle their way through a harsh and unforgiving landscape that portrays the West as it really was. They can act as a gunslinger protecting righteousness or seek retribution as they face resistance fighters, local lawmen, renegade soldiers and vengeful Native Americans. Slated for a fall of 2006 release, the price tag and the ESRB rating will be announced in the coming weeks. For now, feel free to look at the game's screens and download the trailer which US sites must block from under-17s using an ESRB compliant age-gate.

Trailer....

This trailer isn't new. It is the same exact one you had last time, only it takes up more memory now because it is in mpeg form. Just thought I'd point that out.

This is cool

It's success depends on how well the A.I and GTA perfected free roaming is going to be

Yeah.

I'm really hyped about that one, I loved to console version. But, wait a minute... "GUN Showdown - Info, Packshot, Screens and Demo" Now, WHERE THE HELL IS MY DEMO ?

same watered down crap

This is the exact same game as released on consoles almost a year ago. New features: Worse graphics! Fewer onscreen characters! More slowdown! At least it's portable.

Sucks.

This sucked on the other consoles and it'll suck on the PSP, too. Make sure you try the demo before you buy this piece of junk.

this will own if they make a good camera system..except they probably won't. I don't want this to be bad, but I KNOW it will.

lol

It also has multiplayer options which look rather good in the released trailers imo. Especially since it's not just deathmatch. Also extra missions which will help the longevity of the single player portion (I read it was rather short on PS2 etc).

multiplayer would rock

I bet the multiplayer would rock if the camera was good. It would be fun to play 2 player!
