GTA: Vice City Stories, now headed for PS2 |

Oh well. We guess some good things just don't last, as proven by this little discovery that was recently discovered at the ESRB website.
As we can see from the screenie that we have here, it turns out that the supposedly-PSP exclusive GTA: Vice City Stories shows up under both PSP and PS2. In fact, the PS2 version has already been rated by the Board.
Well, for one thing, it may not be such a big deal since the game will get ported over to another Sony system anyway. We're guessing that the only thing that makes this a bit bothersome is the fact that this pretty much completely contradicts Rockstar's previous official statement that the game "will be available exclusively on the PSP system". Oh well.

yeh er theres a trailer on youtube for the ps2 version already, spose this does confirm though, dont know why you would want to buy a psp game for ps2, the graphics sure as hell wont be the selling point

this sucks, i bought a psp just to play vcs, which was my favorite setting for gta (btw the game sucks and the psp sucks because now I have version 2.81)

I bought PSP to play LCS cuz they said iw would be only for PSP (well also the portable thing was cool) but what the hellol they release em for PS2 I want war of the monsters portable!!! thats what i want!

Why on earth did you list PSP? Where do you think the game is coming from in the first place?
Yes the game was exclusive. The game will be exclusively for the PSP until the release of the PS2 version. For the game not to be exclusive it would have to be released on both the PSP and PS2 at the same time. Since the PS2 version is being released later it is only available on the PSP making it exclusively available only for the PSP. It was obvious it would be released on the PS2 anyways since LCS was released on the PS2.
Dev's are losing money because the psp games arent selling as much as they expected. So they have to port it to another console to make up their lost. Kinda sad....that its not doing so well. But that is sony's fault for making a system that is limited. Most of the games on the psp have short comings.

I'd say the reason is more to do with the amount of piracy on the PSP, it's killing the platform, anyone with a psp can now run games direct from the memory stick without even voiding their warranty. PSP games are way too easy to download... Not only that, but the Nintendo/Microsoft fanboys get to laugh at the sales figures for PSP games. Actually, there's probably 10 times more PSP games out there that people are playing but no bugger bought them!

I saw this before it came out. I don't know if it is an error, or they planned it from the start and nobody noticed. In short, it has been rated since the psp version came out.
Laugh at my first two lines then remember this... Exclusive means it is released for a limited time on one brand or system only. It has done that. And, it did it well. Btw, GTA sucks since they do the same thing over ever since 3. GTA 3 was good... life thereafter blows

I knew they were gonna release it on the ps2 sooner or later and vice city stories came out in october for psp which was like 4 or 5 monthes ago

If you took the fifteen seconds to search this on the ESRB site, you'd find that it's not listed there for the PS2 now.
The main reason, I believe, is because it didn't make such a big impact as the last game (Not enough buyers).
Its because they wanted to squeeze every penny it made from the psp before they released it onto the ps2. This is because people will buy it on ps2 rather than psp

They did the same thing with LCS, but not that it matters. I have the PSP version, and I'm sticking with it. Anyway, it may come as a shock to some of you, but other, less fortunate, people don't have a PSP yet, but still want the "stories" series of GTA games, therefore, there still is a market for this game, but not as big as that of the PSP versions, explaining why it's always so cheap on PS2.
it will come out for ps2 for sure!!! i don't blame R*, since exclusive doesn't mean forever. and i WANT them to push it for ps2, since this will only bring the money to help up with their hatching baby, GTA4. don't forget, people, the ultimate goal for R* is to please the gamer, weather you buy vcs4ps2 or not, you WILL play GTA4. and you want it to be a masterpiece. ant it WILL be. R* need money by any means, but that doesn't mean they try to fool us with cheap lies. R*'s attitude for the gamer is not like other game companies. you can go as far as blaming take2, but not R*, because R* is not EA, for example.
^At least some people understand WHY they're releasing it for PS2 as well. Pft, I bought the game, myself, since I couldn't afford the massiveness of the Game's ISO... downloaded LCS though, only about 1.1GB, uncompressed.
Sadly for PS2 users who are PSP-less, ESRB does NOT have VCS listed under PS2 anymore, it might've been a mistake or something.
