GT series creator Yamauchi: no Gran Turismo for PSP this year |
Ó
With racing fans all revved up about the latest iteration in the Gran Turismo series, it seems a tiny speed bump has been spotted regarding the PlayStation Portable release of Gran Turismo 4 Mobile. Due to the amount of time invested on the PS3 projects, it seems highly unlikely that fans will be seeing the handheld racer released any time this year. With all the neat features, like car deformation, being planned into the PlayStation 3 version of the latest Gran Turismo title, it's no wonder why this setback occurred. However, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi reassured gamers that they will still be working on it, along with a couple of improvements seen on the PS3's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
He mentioned that the PSP version will include online features similar to the next-gen version. In fact, this was what Yamauchi had to say to explain the planned changes:
Once we experienced PS3 online and went through all of that, we came to the conclusion that PSP should not be a standalone product - it should be linked in to the world of Gran Turismo, linked with the PlayStation 3.
Until they release more news regarding the game, we guess this means we'll all just have to wait and see what else Yamauchi and his development team at Polyphony Digital have in store for the handheld racer. In any case, don't forget to keep coming back to this spot for more updates regarding the popular racing title.

I actually never saw this game happening for the psp because obviously it is only a game that was being held over our heads.
quit being stupid. They just told us that they're going to make it online and connect with the ps3 gran turismo.
They have always followed through, taken their time and blown everyone away.

i think this game holds the record for the longest delay ever.
Duke Nukem Forever is the clear winner. I can see how little you know. :S
Winners for longest delayed games ever:
1. Duke Nukem Forever (delayed forever)
2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (7 years)
3. Starcraft Ghost (Announced in 2002)
There you go.
lol
Don't forget Red Alert 3.
Tiberian Sun for PS2.
this really is a shame
this game was announced before the PSP was released. Some early promotional materials for the PSP showed a GT screenshot on the device.
some people actually bought the handheld so they could play grand tourismo on it...
but i feel with all this time put in to it, if it does ever come out, i have a feeling it'll be amazing...
...but hopefully itll be out for PSP, and not PSP2 or somthing...
yeah, i agree. Pretty bad if you ask me. GT for had a lot of potential....
But when you consider that Crisis Core was also announced before the PSP was released, GT might come out, too. I just hope this will be before the PS4 comes out.
